Like the film which re-creates the Victorian era using modern technology, Disney is set to promote its 3D animated take on Charles Dicken’s immortal classic A Christmas Carol (starring Jim Carrey in multiple roles) by infusing the preferred mode of travel at the time with amazing displays and interactive experiences. The train begins its tour at Union Station in Los Angeles on May 22 and slowly winds its way to Grand Central Terminal in New York City on October 1.
The free experience offers visitors a glimpse at the film through exhibits such as a digital photo gallery (pictured, left) where characters transition through images of their creation process and evolution, a display on ‘performance-capture’ technology and interactive games. Also on display will be a first edition copy of the book and some of Dickens’ own writing instruments on loan from the Charles Dickens Museum in London. Promotional footage of the film will also be shown in a makeshift theater outside.
