Imagineering the Magic: Magic KingdomA follow-up to the immensely well received Imagineering the Magic: Disneyland, Richard Skillman’s Imagineering the Magic: Magic Kingdom is now available through Disney Theme Park Merchandising.

Debut of ABC’s ‘Prep & Landing’ Pushed Back to Dec 8

Comments

Initially set to air on December 1, ABC has decided to push back the debut of its first holiday special from Walt Disney Animation Studios to December 8 at 8:30 PM ET (not Central as others have been reporting) because of a televised press conference by President Obama. Although the press conference is scheduled to run from 8:00 pm – 8:30 pm and would apparently not overlap with Prep & Landing’s airing at 8:30, ABC has decided to move it anyway.

The back-to-back season premiere of Scrubs is expected to air at 9PM ET as scheduled.

Prep & Landing is also set to re-air on December 16.

UPDATE: WDW Celebrities for Disney Parks Christmas Parade Announced?

Comments

It appears that the oft-well-kept secret of who will be performing for the taped annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade has been released and the news isn’t good for fans of the Jonas Brothers who were the frontrunners in the rumor mill.

Even the Disneyland portion, which tapes first (and already has, earlier this month), seemed to be a big surprise as reporters scrambled to try to get a hint as to who might show.

But as for the Walt Disney World portion, a listing for the special on TV.com offers up a list of celebrities which meshes (for the most part) with the list of artists who were part of the Disneyland portion. Although Anika Noni Rose, Cheryl Burke and Tony Dovolani are missing from the cast list, it does properly list Selena Gomez, Stevie Wonder, Demi Lovato and host Ryan Seacrest.

Which, by process of elimination, leaves the WDW portion of the parade to include: American Idol winner Kris Allen, Disney Records recording artist newcomer Steve Rushton and Celine Dion. Of course just as with the Disneyland portion, there still remains plenty of room for additional surprise performers.

The non-surprise is that Live hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa are listed as hosts this year.

Update #1: December 3 – It’s being reported that — in addition to Kris Allen – Yanni and the Jonas Brothers are performing in the televised parade.

Update #2: December 4 – Regis Philbin will not be co-hosting this year due to recovery from recent surgery. Kelly Ripa will act as the sole host for the Walt Disney World portion and Nick Canon will be providing ‘man on the street’ type interviews

Report: ‘The Ultimate Disney Experience’ Brings Mardi Gras to Broadway

Comments

From now until December 13, Walt Disney Studios is offering an exclusive engagement of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog in both New York City and Los Angeles. Purchasing a ticket not only entitles the ticket bearer the opportunity to experience Disney’s return to the animated musical, but guests are also invited to the Ultimate Disney Experience, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with all nine Disney Princesses as well as engage in several other activities in celebration for the new film.

In New York City, the Ultimate Disney Experience has taken up residence in the Roseland Ballroom, a massive event space that one is typically more likely to find a music concert in rather than a full family experience. But taken up residence, Disney has. From the moment you step into the building, let alone approach it, you are immersed in floor-to-ceiling scenery and props, bringing the New Orleans from the film to life.
