Steven Prusakowski of New Jersey was named the ‘Winnie the Pooh Storyteller of the Year’ last month at the industry’s Posh Little Urbanites Show (PLUSH) in Los Angeles, California. By submitting a video that ‘best showcases creativity, integrates Pooh items and captures the essence of Winnie the Pooh,’ Steven won himself a vacation for four to Los Angeles as well as the opportunity to be showcased in the Winnie the Pooh Wonder and Wander app, available free for Apple iPhone and iPad devices. Steven’s winning video can also be viewed online at the contest’s official page at DisneyStore.com/PoohStoryteller.
Being recognized as the ‘Winnie the Pooh Storyteller of the Year’ was just one of the many activities Disney Consumer Products brought to the attendees of PLUSH this year. In addition to showcasing many of the Disney Baby lines of products featuring Winnie the Pooh and friends, the event also included a fashion show as well as a storytime session with winner Steven. In addition to members of the public, the event was also attended by celebrities and personalities such as Lisa Rinna, Garcelle Beauvais, Jason Kennedy and ‘Cold Case’ star Kathryn Morris, who is currently expecting twins.
Below is a photo gallery from the event provided to us by Disney Consumer Products:
To commemorate the event, Disney Consumer Products and Stitch Kingdom are teaming up to offer one of our lucky readers an amazing gift package featuring many of the products featuring Winnie the Pooh and his friends, as seen here. The entry period runs though July 20, 2013. See the entry form below to how to enter on Facebook and/or Twitter. Enter daily through Twitter (see below for details). If New Yorkers felt a little safer today, it wasn’t without good reason. Atop one of the many buildings encasing popular Union Square stood Tonto with his kimosabe, the Lone Ranger. The life-size likenesses of The Lone Ranger stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer on horseback were part of a nationwide contest from Delta Vacations for a vacation to New Mexico. Moviegoers are encouraged to tweet or instagram photos of the statues along with the hashtag #LRRideForJustice for a bonus entry to the sweepstakes. Currently the statues are in New York City, visible from Union Square north, but they will be appearing at other locations nationally including Atlanta, GA, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL, St. Louis, MO, New Orleans, LA, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, San Francisco, CA, Burbank, CA and Hollywood, CA. A map is available at the official Ride for Justice micro-site as well as clues tweeted by the official @LoneRanger Twitter account.
Hey Howdy Hey! Disney Education is calling on children (aged 3-12) from the US to come up with their best original story featuring Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the Toy Story pals and produce it with the Toy Story: Story Theater app ($2.99) for the chance to send their family to this year’s Disney D23 Expo, being held right near the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA.
To celebrate parents and guardians who foster their child’s creativity and teach valuable life lessons through storytelling, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) has launched a nationwide search for the Winnie the Pooh ‘Storyteller of the Year.’ The ‘Storyteller of the Year’ user generated contest taps into parents’ love of Winnie the Pooh and invites them to share the loveable bear’s story in a creative way through video and the use of fun props including Pooh plush toys, puppets, blankets or any other Pooh item. To enter, all parents and families need to do is create a simple, one-minute video that’s sweet like ‘hunny,’ full of wonder or funny, as they read a select Winnie the Pooh story to their child and show their favorite Pooh items. From April 22 through May 15, 2013, videos can be submitted online at DisneyStore.com/PoohStoryteller or from any mobile device. Complete rules and a list of prizes can be found here.
