To celebrate parents and guardians who foster their child’s creativity and teach valuable life lessons through storytelling, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) has launched a nationwide search for the Winnie the Pooh ‘Storyteller of the Year.’ The ‘Storyteller of the Year’ user generated contest taps into parents’ love of Winnie the Pooh and invites them to share the loveable bear’s story in a creative way through video and the use of fun props including Pooh plush toys, puppets, blankets or any other Pooh item. To enter, all parents and families need to do is create a simple, one-minute video that’s sweet like ‘hunny,’ full of wonder or funny, as they read a select Winnie the Pooh story to their child and show their favorite Pooh items. Parents and guardians can choose from three Pooh stories ‘A Blustery Day,’ ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ and ‘A Bouncy Babysitter’ to create their own video. Once their video is complete, they simply upload it at DisneyStore.com/PoohStoryteller to enter the contest. DCP will select the winning video that best showcases creativity, integrates Pooh items, and captures the essence of Winnie the Pooh. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to Los Angeles, CA for a family of four and an assortment of Winnie the Pooh products including toys, books, and other gifts. As an added bonus, the winning video will be added to an upcoming version of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh: Wonder and Wander App, and everyone who downloads the free app will see the ‘master storyteller’ in action.
Additionally, while in Los Angeles, the winning family will join DCP at the ‘Wonder and Wander with Winnie the Pooh’ experience held at ‘PLUSH: the posh little urbanites show’ on June 9, 2013, where the winner will be officially crowned ‘Storyteller of the Year,’ and will read a Winnie the Pooh story to kids and families and celebrities in attendance.

Disney announced today that, in support of their new trailer launch, AMC Theatres® will be presenting a global live Q&A on Yahoo! Movies following a special screening of 20 minutes of exclusive footage from Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ thrilling action adventure The Lone Ranger on April 17, 2013, at the AMC Town Square 18 in Las Vegas. The event, which starts at 12:30 p.m. (PDT), gives 400+ fans the first look at select footage from the movie and features a live Q&A session with Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Gore Verbinski and Jerry Bruckheimer following the screening, with global live streaming beginning at 1:00 p.m. (PDT).

‘LIVE with Kelly and Michael’ steps up its annual ‘Girls Night Out’ contest this year to include a bi-coastal event, including a five night trip to Los Angeles during the 85th Academy Awards, where the winner and up to four of her friends will receive bleacher tickets for the red carpet arrivals, a night out with Kelly Ripa, VIP tickets to the LIVE after-Oscars show as well as $2500 in spending money.

Kids and tweens will once again have the opportunity to shake it up and break it down with the return of Disney Channel’s popular dance competition “Make Your Mark: Shake It Up Dance Off.” Last year, more than 12 million viewers watched the two-night finale event, skyrocketing it to #1 among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for both nights. This year, kids once again will have the opportunity to compete for the Grand Prize – a performance in an episode of Disney Channel’s top-rated series “Shake It Up.”
Beginning today, viewers can visit DisneyChannel.com/Danceoff where “Shake It Up” choreographer Rosero McCoy hosts instructional dance videos that teach kids steps seen in the hit Disney Channel series. New dance tutorials will be uploaded throughout the summer and beginning June 29, with the consent of a parent, kids ages 8-16 are invited to visit DisneyChannel.com/Danceoff to create and submit their own short dance videos to be considered for a chance to compete in the on-air dance competition. Dance videos can be choreographed or freestyle and up to 45-seconds long, with a maximum of five dancers.
Also this summer, Club Penguin players will have the chance to make their mark and shake it up when Club Penguin’s annual Music Jam is transformed into the “Make Your Mark: Ultimate Jam.” Beginning July 19 through August 1, players in the Internet’s #1 virtual world will be invited to chat and dance with customized Rocky and CeCe penguins, and even unlock exclusive dance moves, just like the characters from “Shake It Up.”

Sony Joins Disney Parks on ‘Share Magical Memories’ Campaign; Vacation Contest and Gift with Purchase Offer
Sony Electronics announced today it has teamed up with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to promote its latest line of Handycam® camcorders in a new integrated marketing campaign that focuses on capturing and sharing family memories.
The “Share Magical Memories” co-branded campaign kicks off with a unique online contest and dedicated website hosted by Disney Interactive at www.disney.com/memories, where guests can submit a written entry about a special someone in their life, a family member, friend or educator, who has helped create a lasting memory. A panel of judges will review the stories about the special memory makers and select five grand prize winners. Each grand prize winner will receive a vacation for themselves and three guests, plus a vacation for their memory makers and three guests to Walt Disney World Resort. The winning families will also receive a Sony® HDR-PJ260V projector camcorder to document new memories before, during, and after their experience at Disney Parks.
There will also be a weekly sweepstakes on disney.com/memories where guests can enter daily on the site or text “SONY” to DISNEY (347639) on their mobile devices, for a chance to win prizes such as a $200 Disney gift card and a Sony HDR-PJ260V camcorder. One winner will be awarded per week.
