In honor of the June 1 release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland on Blu-ray and DVD, Walt Disney Studios is asking fans to submit video performances of their own individual takes on the Mad Hatter’s Futterwacken.
For some inspiration, they’ve provided the following clip from the home video release in which David ‘Elsewhere’ Bernal talks about how the dance came about:
Entries should be no longer than 40 seconds in length and include your first name and the state where you reside. It only takes three easy steps to enter — record your video, add music (your favorite Almost Alice is encouraged but not required) and upload to the contest website.
Rayovac, the official provider of batteries at the Disney Parks, has announced its ‘Rayovac Powers Your Vacation’ sweepstakes in which one winner will receive a vacation for four to either the Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort.

ACM SIGGRAPH announces the launch of the Learning Challenge at SIGGRAPH 2010 – an open competition sponsored by Disney Research with the goal of finding new and creative ways to use technology to make learning fun for children. Based on the principle that fun and learning should not be contradictory, teams are asked to develop an engaging, computer-based learning application that will delight, inspire, and reveal key learning concepts for children ages 7-11.
Disney today announced Mrs. Julie Schnedler’s sixth grade Mediapolis Community School class as the national grand prize winner of the inaugural Disney’s Planet Challenge, a project-based learning environmental competition for 4th – 6th grade classrooms.

Thousands of classrooms in all 50 states enrolled in Disney’s Planet Challenge, which is just in its first year as a national program. Since fall 2009, classes across the nation have been hard at work on environmental projects of their choosing. They spent months collecting data, conducting field research, coming up with solutions for problems, promoting community involvement and documenting their efforts along the way.
Radio Disney will launch a new multi-platform daily programming feature, ”N.B.T.: Making It Big,” chronicling the rise of Allstar Weekend, the inaugural year “N.B.T.” (“Next Big Thing”) finalists now signed to Hollywood Records. Premiering on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, “N.B.T.: Making It Big” provides audiences on-air, online and via mobile devices an inside look at what it takes to make it big in the music industry. “N.B.T.: Making It Big” will take Radio Disney and Disney Channel audiences behind the scenes of Allstar Weekend’s journey leading up to the June 22 release of their debut album on Hollywood Records. Featuring details on how they first formed their band and became “N.B.T.” artists to what they love most about recording sessions, photo shoots, and making music videos, “N.B.T.: Making It Big” will give audiences a first-hand perspective into the lives of these rising stars.
