The largest gathering of Disney fans outside of a Disney Park will return to Anaheim, California next summer as Disney D23 announces it will hold its 2013 Disney D23 convention once more at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 9 through August 11, 2013.
Disney lovers are invited to celebrate with Disney D23, the official fan club of The Walt Disney Company, this summer as it brings its annual anniversary event to Disney fans in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Boston, Chicago and Walt Disney World (Orlando).
Each event promises to lead guests on a journey through dozens of unforgettable Disney moments that have delighted generations of Disney fans. Each show will be hosted by a Disney archivist and D23 team member and will highlight the rich behind-the-scenes stories of these magical moments through rarely (or never-before) seen film footage, concept art, photography, and exclusive interviews with many of your favorite Disney Legends and luminaries.
As D23: The Official Disney Fan Club gets ready to celebrate its third anniversary in the midst of its most exciting year ever, D23 Members and Disney fans are invited to get in on the fun with a special, 23-day Twitter sweepstakes that combines the fun of Disney fandom, history and trivia with the thrill of a scavenger hunt.
Beginning Friday, February 17, Disney D23’s “23 Days of Celebration” invites all Disney fans to help mark the third anniversary of the first and only official Disney fan club. Each day at approximately 10 a.m. Pacific time, D23 will provide a different challenge for the day – and the first person to submit a valid photo that matches the challenge will win a special D23 prize.
Beginning February 1, 2012 through March 31, 2012, current passholders at either the Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resorts are eligible for a special 20% discount off of new ‘Disney D23′ Gold level memberships, representing a savings of nearly $15.

It’s time to raise the curtain! Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, Gonzo, Fozzie and friends grace the cover of the Winter 2011 issue of Disney twenty-three magazine, on stands November 15. These beloved characters return to the silver screen in the much-anticipated new film The Muppets, in theaters November 23.
Academy Award® nominee Amy Adams, star and writer Jason Segel, Oscar® winners Whoopi Goldberg, Liza Minnelli, Alan Arkin and Chris Cooper, plus many more, share the spotlight with the furry co-stars in this Thanksgiving treat from Walt Disney Studios. And, yes, even Miss Piggy does a star turn. “I really do believe that in this movie I will finally get that Academy Award®,” Miss Piggy tells Disney twenty-three magazine. “I’ve been studying with Stanislavski.”
In honor of the release of Rock Star Mickey from Fisher-Price on September 6 (now available for pre-order), ‘American Idol’ favorite and star of Broadway, Constantine Maroulis, took the stage at the Disney Consumer Product booth at the 2011 Disney D23 Expo to help the must-have toy make its public debut.
Maroulis performed his hit cover, ‘You Really Got Me’ (available on iTunes) before inviting Mickey Mouse himself to the stage where the new partners in rock went over all of Mickey’s new power moves including kick-steps, head bobbing and the must-be-seen-to-be-believed Mickety-split, which ends up with Mickey Mouse playing the guitar with his nose!
If your visits to the Disney theme parks around the world leave you longing for the days of yore when your most favorite attraction ever was still around, or you feel the hankering to share those memories with your children who never were afforded the opportunity, your wishes may soon be answered, and that comes directly from Disney Parks Chair, Tom Staggs.
‘You must get great reception with those,’ said Mickey Mouse to a Mouse Ears-sporting attendee at the 2011 D23 Expo which took place last weekend. Gradually he stepped further away from the guest, asking the inevitable ‘can you hear me now?’ question over and over.
This is just one of the many interactions that took place at the D23 Expo in which guests got their first public, announced opportunity to speak with Mickey Mouse for the first time since Disneyland introduced the meet and greet character, decades ago.
