‘Secret World of Arrietty’ Hi-Res Stills, Trailer
Walt Disney Studios has provided us hi-res stills from its upcoming English release of The Secret World of Arrietty (pronounced AIR-ee-ett-ee) from the legendary Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Ponyo). Residing quietly beneath the floorboards are little people who live undetected in a secret world to be discovered, where the smallest may stand tallest of all. The Secret World of Arrietty is an animated adventure based on Mary Norton’s acclaimed children’s book series The Borrowers.
In the film, Arrietty (voice of Bridgit Mendler), a tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents (voices of Will Arnett and Amy Poehler) in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper (voice of Carol Burnett). Like all little people, Arrietty remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to ‘borrow’ scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shawn (voice of David Henrie), a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty’s family from the home and straight into danger.
Written by animation legend Hayao Miyazaki and Keiko Niwa, the English language version of The Secret World of Arrietty was executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, and directed by Gary Rydstrom.
The Secret World of Arrietty opens nationwide on February 17, 2012

‘Dancing with the Stars’ to Feature Performances by Demi Lovato and The Script
Following last week’s electrifying season 13 premiere, the eleven remaining couples hit the ballroom floor for the second time, performing either the Jive or the Quickstep, on this week’s “Dancing with the Stars,” Monday, September 26 at 8:00 pm ET on ABC.
On Tuesday, September 27 at 9:00 pm ET, on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,” musical guest Demi Lovato returns to the ballroom to perform the hit single “Skyscraper” from her latest album, “Unbroken,” in a number choreographed by Emmy Award winner Wade Robson. The Script also grace the stage with a stellar live performance of their platinum selling hit single, “For the First Time,” off their sophomore album “Science & Faith,” and will be accompanied by “DWTS” returning pros Dmitry Chaplin and Chelsie Hightower. Also featured this week is the first “Macy’s Stars of Dance” performance of the season, with a number created by Emmy (r)Award-winning choreographer Marguerite Derricks, a piece inspired by the legendary Busby Berkeley. In addition, all nine male “DWTS” pros and troupe members will perform a thrilling number.
In the last few months Demi Lovato has been on fire. She’s hit the studio with an all-star list of collaborators including Timbaland, Jason Derulo, Ryan Tedder and Missy Elliot; the first single off “Unbroken,” “Skyscraper,” debuted at #1 on iTunes chart, #2 on the Billboard’s Hot Digital Singles chart, and #10 on the Billboard’s Hot 100. The singer and actress started in show business as a pre-teen and rose quickly. By the time she was 15 she was a bona fide TV star cultivating a promising singing career. In the late 2000s, while maintaining a rigorous TV and film shooting schedule, Lovato released two massively successful solo albums, “Don’t Forget” (2007) and “Here We Go Again” (2009); the former debuted at #2, the latter at #1. Her third solo LP, “Unbroken,” released September 20, 2011, showcases a collection of tracks that reveal a young woman with enough real life experience to appreciate the value of letting loose and enjoying herself. The songs run the gamut from epic ballad to cheeky pop power anthems. With the release of “Unbroken,” Lovato is focused on her immediate future and enjoying all that’s available to her, now that she’s back at the top of her game. The lead single, “Skyscraper,” has already reestablished her as a force to be reckoned with on the charts.
Hot off the heels of a #3 debut with their recent studio album, “Science & Faith,” and currently touring the U.S. on a string of sold out dates, The Script clearly have no plans to slow down. It’s been a rags to riches glory ride, an emotional rollercoaster, an all action, all-star blockbuster. Three young Dubliners, Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power, took on the world with music fashioned from the emotional detritus of their own hard lives, raised up by a love of pop, rock, hip hop and soul. In two years they’ve notched up a handful of hit singles around the world, including “Breakeven,” “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “We Cry.” Their 2008 self-titled debut album, “The Script,” went to #1 in the UK and Ireland, with more than 2 million in sales worldwide. They’ve played stadium shows with music heroes U2 and Sir Paul McCartney, and to cap it all, “Breakeven” — which has already sold over 2 million downloads in the U.S alone — rewrote history here in America on Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart to take the #1 spot, where the song completed a record-setting 36-week rise to the summit.
By evening’s end, one couple will be eliminated, as determined by a combination of the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes on dances performed on Monday’s performance show. Who among the eleven couples will be the second team to leave?

D23 Expo: ‘Shake It Up’ Panel and Fashion Show Exclusive Photos and Performance Video
The constant screams in the D23 Expo Arena stemming from hundreds of fans was the only Expo schedule you needed to know that they would soon be entertained by the stars of one of the most successful tv series in Disney Channel history, ‘Shake It Up.’
The event first kicked off, however, with a fashion show highlighting the current Target-exclusive D-Signed collection, inspired by the show’s lead characters, CeCe and Rocky, played by Bella Thorne and Zendaya Coleman.
Following the fashion show, which was attended by Bella and Zendaya, came the panel itself, moderated by Radio Disney’s own, Ernie D. For the panel, Bella and Zendaya were also joined by Davis Cleveland (Flynn), Roshan Fegan (Ty), Adam Irigoyen (Deuce), Kenton Duty (Gunther) and Caroline Sunshine (Tinka).
With a brief Q&A session which talked about pranks on the set and the cast’s individual experiences with the audition process, the floor was opened to a few questions from the audience. We also learned that there would be a one hour episode in the second season (airing September 18) which promised some amazing things, as well as some hints about what will happen in the second season, such as new potential relationships for both Rocky and CeCe and that Roshan’s character, Ty, will begin rapping. One highlight in particular from the session was Zendaya and Bella sharing their secret handshake which seemed like it took several minutes to execute.
The cast then took a break as the audience was treated to the upcoming Halloween episode of ‘Shake It Up’ which guest stars Atticus Shaffer, best known as Brick on ABC’s ‘The Middle.’ While Atticus’ character has a scary secret to share with candy guru Flynn, Rocky and CeCe receive a couple of tricks of their own when they meet a couple of boys at a Halloween party.
After the advanced screening of the episode, the cast returned to perform the dance number they had been rehearsing hours upon hours for, exclusively for the Disney D23 Expo presentation and, as you can see for yourself, it was all worth it. The show’s choreographer even came out after the performance and taught part of the dance to the fans.

Megan Hilty (NBC’s upcoming musical series “Smash”) also stars as Rosetta.
The special is executive-produced by Academy Award winner John Lasseter (Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story” and “Cars” franchises) and directed by Bradley Raymond (“Tinker Bell”).
During Disney’s D23 fan expo in Anaheim this week, Tinker Bell, joined by Disney Channel stars Brenda Song, Jason Dolley and Tiffany Thornton, will make a special appearance at the Walt Disney Studios Animation Pavilion on FRIDAY, AUGUST 19 at 4:00 p.m. On SATURDAY, AUGUST 20 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., “Pixie Hollow Games” producer Helen Kalafatic and director Bradley Raymond will be meeting fans and talking about the new animated special on the expo floor in front of the Disney Fairies booth.
In “Pixie Hollow Games,” all of the fairies and sparrow men in Pixie Hollow gather for the legendary three-day Olympic-style competition event, which culminates with one fairy guild being named champion of the Games. Determined not to let the garden fairies’ unfortunate history of not performing well at the Games get to her, newcomer Chloe (voiced by Brenda Song) works to convince all of the other garden fairies, which includes her teammate Rosetta (voiced by Megan Hilty) and the pragmatic Fern (voiced by Zendaya), that they must work together and dig down deep to break their well-known losing streak. Along the way, the reigning champion storm fairies, including Rumble (voiced by Jason Dolley) and Glimmer (voiced by Tiffany Thornton), continue to intimidate and outperform their competitors, but with Chloe’s spirited determination, they are forced to work harder than ever before.
The virtual world of Pixie Hollow will host and celebrate the Games with the “How Will You Train?” art contest. The contest, which runs from August 16 – September 6, invites Disney Fairies fans to draw and share how they will train for the Pixie Hollow Games, with the grand prize winner receiving the ultimate viewing party kit. The kit includes everything needed to enjoy the “Pixie Hollow Games” premiere on Disney Channel, including a TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, a Tinker Bell DVD collection, party supplies, and more. Sneak Peek: Mitchel Musso’s ‘Prankstars’ on Disney Channel
Disney Channel has provided us with these sneak peeks at the first episode of its new reality prank show, ‘Prankstars,’ hosted by Mitchel Musso and featuring your favorite Disney Channel stars.
In this first clip, Mary is at an audition for a bubble gum commercial when she’s paired up with a ‘BFF’ for the ad. When Mary and her new best bud are sent off into a corner to go learn about each other, Mary learns a valuable lesson. If it walks like Selena Gomez and it quacks like Selena Gomez, it’s probably a Selena Gomez impersonator — unless you’re being pranked!
Next up is 15 year old Luke, who is recruited by Mitchel Musso to fill in for his deadbeat ex-BFF for an interview. Apparently when it comes to faking it, Luke makes the cut. He doesn’t even mind just digging in and getting his hands dirty.
Also starring in the first episode is ailing Debby Ryan who requests fan Albany fill in for her at a fashion show. It turns out Albany’s so good at the job, she’s asked to fire Debby!
‘Prankstars’ premieres on July 15 at 8 pm on Disney Channel, with new episodes premiering each month with more Disney Channel favorites.
