First the show inspired the attraction, then the attraction spawned a contestant and now Disney is invading the stage this week as Miley Cyrus will not only mentor the Billboard #1 hits themed show this week, but she will also perform her song When I Look of You from her upcoming film The Last Song. Also joining Miley on stage during the results show on Wednesday night will be Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato performing their new joint Make a Wave which will be featured in Disneynature’s upcoming release OCEANS.

‘Sonny’ Gets Second Chance; New Season Premieres March 14 on Disney Channel
The second season of the hit comedy series “Sonny With A Chance” – highlighted by clever new ‘So Random’ sketches that further showcase the ensemble cast’s tremendous comedic talent – will premiere SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Starring are Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Brandon Mychal Smith, Doug Brochu and Allisyn Ashley Arm. Recurring cast members include Nancy McKeon, Michael Kostroff and Vicki Lewis.
New episodes follow Sonny as she lives out her dream of starring on her favorite sketch comedy show for tweens, “So Random!” in Hollywood, she tries to balance her friendships with the everyday problems that pop up at school and on set. Throughout the second season, viewers will see the progression of Sonny and Chad’s ever-evolving relationship, Sonny’s new foray into singing, among a continued comedy of errors by the ensemble cast.
In the premiere episode entitled “Walk A Mile In My Pants,” Sonny rallies everyone together for a “Walk-A-Thon For Books” and gets Tawni to donate her ‘Tawni Hart’s Extreme Skinny Jeans’ for all of the participants to wear. When Chad finds out, he follows suit and organizes a “Walk-A-Thon Against Books” with participants also wearing Tawni’s pants. Eventually everyone starts dropping like flies as a result of SPS (Skinny Pants Syndrome).
The series was recently nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award in the Favorite TV series category and its title star, Demi Lovato, won a Teen Choice Award in the Choice TV Breakout Star category.

Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato Debut ‘Make a Wave’ Anthem; Song to be Featured in Disneynature’s OCEANS
“Make A Wave,” an inspirational duet by Hollywood Records recording artists and Disney Channel stars Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, recorded for Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green and to be featured in the upcoming Disneynature film “OCEANS,” was unveiled yesterday in an exclusive performance during the “Celebrate Family Volunteers” event at Walt Disney World® Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The anthem will debut February 26 on Radio Disney, while the music video will have its world premiere on Disney Channel March 14 and launch online the following day at Disney.com. “Make A Wave” will be available beginning March 15 on iTunes, with all proceeds benefiting environmental charities through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF). ”OCEANS” hits theaters April 22, 2010 (Earth Day).
With the motivating lyrics “just a pebble in the water can set the sea in motion, a simple act of kindness can stir the deepest ocean,” the anthem carries the main message of Friends for Change: when people work together, small steps can add up to a world of difference. With its water theme, the song also helps to underscore the importance of protecting the world’s water habitats, which make up nearly three- quarters of our planet.
“Make A Wave” is the follow-up to last year’s hit Friends for Change anthem “Send It On” by Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. To date, “Send It On” has helped raise more than $500,000 for conservation projects across the globe. A large portion of those funds is helping revitalize forests in the U.S., Latin America and Europe in collaboration with Arbor Day Foundation. Proceeds are also being directed to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund’s “Rapid Response Fund” which focuses on aiding animals affected by disasters. As a recent example, $20,000 was directed to the International Fund for Animal Welfare, a leading member of the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti, working to provide care for animals following the devastating earthquakes.

‘JONAS’ and ‘Sonny with a Chance’ Video Games Invite Fans Onstage, Backstage and Beyond
BURBANK, Calif. — In two of the Disney Channel’s biggest hits, “JONAS” and “Sonny With A Chance,” the storylines take viewers on and off-stage with the Lucas brothers to see how they live their everyday lives, and backstage with the hilarious cast of the “So Random” sketch comedy show. Two new Nintendo DS™ titles from Disney Interactive Studios will make those experiences come to life. Available today in retail stores nationwide is JONAS for DS, while Sonny with a Chance is currently being developed for release in spring 2010.
“Both JONAS and Sonny with a Chance will deliver fresh new interactive experiences for fans,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “Filled with memorable moments with favorite characters, these DS games allow players to deepen their engagement with both shows with hours of lighthearted fun.”
JONAS for DS is inspired by the Disney Channel Original Series starring the Jonas Brothers, whose characters juggle everyday school and family life as it collides with the pop star world. The game lets fans play as three of the hottest rock stars on the planet, Nick, Joe and Kevin Lucas. Players help the band, JONAS, tear up the stage in six concerts, hang out with friends Macy and Stella, and visit locations such as the brothers’ firehouse and school as seen on the TV show.
JONAS also features popular tunes sung by the Jonas Brothers on the show, including “Live to Party,” “Keep It Real” and “Why,” which players can jam to in performance mode. In addition, players can customize the brothers’ outfits for cool looks in school and in performance mode. In story mode, players collect musical notes to power up their guitars and then strike the right guitar chords to overcome obstacles.

Radio Disney to Premiere Demi Lovato’s New Album, ‘Here We Go Again,’ July 18
Burbank, July 15, 2009 … Radio Disney will present the world premiere of Demi Lovato’s new album, “Here We Go Again,” on SATURDAY, JULY 18 (7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT) during Radio Disney’s Planet Premiere, a regular feature presentation from the authority on the music kids love and parents trust. The album will be replayed on SUNDAY, JULY 19 (12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT) and can be streamed and listened to online at RadioDisney.com from SATURDAY, JULY 18 through FRIDAY, JULY 24.
During the broadcast, Radio Disney’s “Ernie D” will interview the star of “Princess Protection Program” and “Sonny With A Chance” while playing songs from her new album. Radio Disney’s Top 30 chart currently features Lovato’s “So Far, So Great” at #13 and “Here We Go Again” at #15.
Lovato, who has written nearly written 300 songs in her young life, had the chance to write songs for this album with Grammy winner John Mayer and singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin. “Here We Go Again” releases Tuesday, July 21 on Hollywood Records. Her first album, “Don’t Forget,” was released in September 2008 on Hollywood Records. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 89,000 copies in the first week and features three singles that have all been certified gold: “Get Back,” “La La Land” and “Don’t Forget.”
“Sonny With A Chance” airs Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel. “Princess Protection Program” debuted last month on Disney Channel as the No. 3 original movie of all time in Total Viewers (8.5 million), and “The Royal B.F.F. Extended Edition” is now available on Disney DVD and features an exclusive new music video of “One and the Same” performed by Selena Gomez and Lovato, a behind-the-scenes look at the film with the teen stars, and a free “B.F.F” necklace set.

Disney Channel to Begin Production on ‘Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam’ with Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers
Disney Channel will begin production later this summer on “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam,” the sequel to the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock,” with Demi Lovato, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas reprising their starring roles. Joining the cast are Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges. Also returning to the sequel’s cast are Meaghan Martin, Alyson Stoner, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Roshon Fegan, Daniel Fathers and Maria Canals-Barrera. “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam” is scheduled to premiere in 2010 on Disney Channel.
“Camp Rock has had tremendous success around the world – on television, on DVD and as a soundtrack” said Gary Marsh, President, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide. “Our goal with this sequel is to raise the stakes and dig deeper into these wonderful characters and their musical journey.”
The movie will be directed by DGA Award-winning director Paul Hoen (Disney Channel’s “Jump In!” and “The Cheetah Girls One World”) and choreographed by Rosero McCoy (“Step Up”). Disney Channel Orders Second Season of ‘Sonny With a Chance,’ Fourth Season of ‘Hannah Montana’
Disney Channel has ordered a second season of “Sonny With A Chance,” TV’s #1 program for Kids 6-11 and#1 scripted program for Tweens 9-14, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide. The series, which premiered in February, stars Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Brandon Mychal Smith, Doug Brochu and Allisyn Ashley Arm. It was created by Steve Marmel, who executive-produces along with Michael Feldman, Brian Robbins and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett.
Marsh said: “’Sonny’ was a hit right out of the gate, thanks in no small part to the stratospheric trajectory of our newest star, Demi Lovato. She and the entire talented cast, along with our gifted writing and producing teams, have turned ‘Sonny With A Chance’ into ‘destination television’ for kids everywhere.
