First the show inspired the attraction, then the attraction spawned a contestant and now Disney is invading the stage this week as Miley Cyrus will not only mentor the Billboard #1 hits themed show this week, but she will also perform her song When I Look of You from her upcoming film The Last Song. Also joining Miley on stage during the results show on Wednesday night will be Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato performing their new joint Make a Wave which will be featured in Disneynature’s upcoming release OCEANS.
The new installment of the music-driven reality series “Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream 2,” which gives viewers unprecedented access to worldwide superstars Jonas Brothers’ lives on stage and off, will premiere SUNDAY, MARCH 21 (8:55 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The 11-episode short form series offers a revealing look at Platinum selling rock stars Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas as they embark on a 16-city European leg of “Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009.”
“Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream 2? follows Kevin, Joe and Nick on the road during their headline tour across Europe, with stops in France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and England.
In the premiere episode, “Kick Off,” Kevin, Joe and Nick arrive in Italy for the first stop on the European leg of their tour and take the stage for the first time on an intimate 360 degree circular set. The cameras follow the musicians as they prepare for the opening night show and Kevin shows how he, Joe and Nick sneak past thousands of fans to get under the stage at the start of each show.
The second installment of the series delves into Kevin, Joe and Nick’s other passions including favorite charities and how they stay fit and healthy. Joe reveals his biggest unfulfilled goal, while Nick sheds light on the songwriting process and how past relationships have inspired some of their biggest hits.
Grammy nominated artists Jonas Brothers’ fourth album, “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and inspired the three-continent “Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009? (produced by Live Nation), which sold nearly 1 million tickets in its first week on sale. During the European leg of the tour, Jonas Brothers played sold out shows in Madrid, Paris and London. Jonas Brothers stand among the top grossing artists of 2009 and won Billboard Magazine’s Choice Tour Award for 2009.
During 2010, Kevin, Joe and Nick will star in the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie, “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam.”
“Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream 2? was executive-produced and directed by Seth Jarrett (“Rocked With Gina Gershon,” “Jonas Brothers Living The Dream”) and executive-produced by Tony Colon. It is a production of Jarrett Creative Group.
“Make A Wave,” an inspirational duet by Hollywood Records recording artists and Disney Channel stars Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, recorded for Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green and to be featured in the upcoming Disneynature film “OCEANS,” was unveiled yesterday in an exclusive performance during the “Celebrate Family Volunteers” event at Walt Disney World® Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The anthem will debut February 26 on Radio Disney, while the music video will have its world premiere on Disney Channel March 14 and launch online the following day at Disney.com. “Make A Wave” will be available beginning March 15 on iTunes, with all proceeds benefiting environmental charities through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF). ”OCEANS” hits theaters April 22, 2010 (Earth Day).
With the motivating lyrics “just a pebble in the water can set the sea in motion, a simple act of kindness can stir the deepest ocean,” the anthem carries the main message of Friends for Change: when people work together, small steps can add up to a world of difference. With its water theme, the song also helps to underscore the importance of protecting the world’s water habitats, which make up nearly three- quarters of our planet.
“Make A Wave” is the follow-up to last year’s hit Friends for Change anthem “Send It On” by Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. To date, “Send It On” has helped raise more than $500,000 for conservation projects across the globe. A large portion of those funds is helping revitalize forests in the U.S., Latin America and Europe in collaboration with Arbor Day Foundation. Proceeds are also being directed to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund’s “Rapid Response Fund” which focuses on aiding animals affected by disasters. As a recent example, $20,000 was directed to the International Fund for Animal Welfare, a leading member of the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti, working to provide care for animals following the devastating earthquakes.

It appears that the oft-well-kept secret of who will be performing for the taped annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade has been released and the news isn’t good for fans of the Jonas Brothers who were the frontrunners in the rumor mill.
Even the Disneyland portion, which tapes first (and already has, earlier this month), seemed to be a big surprise as reporters scrambled to try to get a hint as to who might show.
But as for the Walt Disney World portion, a listing for the special on TV.com offers up a list of celebrities which meshes (for the most part) with the list of artists who were part of the Disneyland portion. Although Anika Noni Rose, Cheryl Burke and Tony Dovolani are missing from the cast list, it does properly list Selena Gomez, Stevie Wonder, Demi Lovato and host Ryan Seacrest.
Which, by process of elimination, leaves the WDW portion of the parade to include: American Idol winner Kris Allen, Disney Records recording artist newcomer Steve Rushton and Celine Dion. Of course just as with the Disneyland portion, there still remains plenty of room for additional surprise performers.
The non-surprise is that Live hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa are listed as hosts this year.
Update #1: December 3 – It’s being reported that — in addition to Kris Allen – Yanni and the Jonas Brothers are performing in the televised parade.
Update #2: December 4 – Regis Philbin will not be co-hosting this year due to recovery from recent surgery. Kelly Ripa will act as the sole host for the Walt Disney World portion and Nick Canon will be providing ‘man on the street’ type interviews
Disney Media Sales and Marketing and Xbox 360 have teamed with pop culture powerhouse the Jonas Brothers to star in a national campaign for Xbox 360 called “It’s More Fun Time.” The campaign is seen across multiple Disney platforms including Disney Channel, Disney XD, ABC Kids, Disney Online and Family.com’s “Get Plugged In” video portal, which provides families with information on internet safety for kids.
As part of the campaign, Disney and Xbox 360 launched the “It’s More Fun Time” with the Jonas Brothers Sweepstakes. Open to kids age 8 and up, the sweepstakes provides one lucky winner and a friend the grand prize of an Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the experience of playing Xbox 360 with the Jonas Brothers. Sweepstakes entries are accepted at Disney.com/MoreFunTime or by texting XBOX to DISNEY (347639) — message and data rates may apply.
Tricia Wilber, executive vice president, Disney Media Sales and Marketing, said: “This campaign is an example of how we can partner with clients in a creative approach to leverage Disney’s powerful kid-driven, family-inclusive media platforms, and the widely appealing Jonas Brothers who bring their authenticity as Xbox 360 players and their superstar momentum to the sponsorship.”
Fans also invited to produce and upload their own video telling the Jonas Brothers how they spend their “More Fun Time.” Videos can be completed with one of the many pre-recorded responses from Jonas Brothers to reflect an actual “virtual chat” with Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. Select videos will be posted at Disney.com/MoreFunTime, where guests can vote for their favorite user-generated video.
In conjunction with this campaign Xbox LIVE members will receive a single episode of the Jonas Brothers hit series, “JONAS,” free to view on Xbox LIVE Zune Marketplace through December 31, 2009. No longer solely a video game console, Xbox 360 is a full-blown entertainment system with “more fun” for everyone. Consumers can connect with friends and family via Twitter and Facebook, enjoy thousands of instant HD movies in full 1080P, and listen to their favorite tunes on Last.fm – all on Xbox 360.
BURBANK, Calif. — In two of the Disney Channel’s biggest hits, “JONAS” and “Sonny With A Chance,” the storylines take viewers on and off-stage with the Lucas brothers to see how they live their everyday lives, and backstage with the hilarious cast of the “So Random” sketch comedy show. Two new Nintendo DS™ titles from Disney Interactive Studios will make those experiences come to life. Available today in retail stores nationwide is JONAS for DS, while Sonny with a Chance is currently being developed for release in spring 2010.
“Both JONAS and Sonny with a Chance will deliver fresh new interactive experiences for fans,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “Filled with memorable moments with favorite characters, these DS games allow players to deepen their engagement with both shows with hours of lighthearted fun.”
JONAS for DS is inspired by the Disney Channel Original Series starring the Jonas Brothers, whose characters juggle everyday school and family life as it collides with the pop star world. The game lets fans play as three of the hottest rock stars on the planet, Nick, Joe and Kevin Lucas. Players help the band, JONAS, tear up the stage in six concerts, hang out with friends Macy and Stella, and visit locations such as the brothers’ firehouse and school as seen on the TV show.
JONAS also features popular tunes sung by the Jonas Brothers on the show, including “Live to Party,” “Keep It Real” and “Why,” which players can jam to in performance mode. In addition, players can customize the brothers’ outfits for cool looks in school and in performance mode. In story mode, players collect musical notes to power up their guitars and then strike the right guitar chords to overcome obstacles.
Disney Channel has picked up Season Two of the hit comedy series “JONAS,” starring the multi-platinum recording artists Jonas Brothers plus popular actresses Chelsea Staub and Nicole Anderson. Two new and notable producers, Lester Lewis (“The Office,” “The Larry Sanders Show”) and Paul Hoen (director and co-producer of “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” DGA Award-winning director of “Jump In!,” and “The Cheetah Girls One World,” among others), have been named executive producers of the series. Season two of “JONAS” is scheduled to begin production in Hollywood in February for debut in mid-2010 on Disney Channel, DisneyChannel.com, mobile and VOD platforms. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.
This month, while on the European leg of their hugely successful Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 (produced by Live Nation), Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas also began production on Season Two of their popular short-form reality series, “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream,” for premiere in early 2010. It will be followed by the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” in summer.
Marsh said, “We couldn’t ask for a more collaborative or creative partnership than we have with the Jonas Brothers – and the success of our first season of ‘JONAS’ speaks for itself. As we build on that success in a second season, we are thrilled to add the extraordinary creative talents of Lester Lewis and Paul Hoen to the producing team.”
Regarding the appeal of a second season of “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream,” Marsh continued, “We can deliver something to our viewers that no one else can – exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the real life adventures of one of the superstar bands of our time. That’s exactly the kind of unique experience our viewers have come to expect from Disney Channel.”
