Leading up to the worldwide release of her latest CD, “Can’t Be Tamed,” the internationally renowned and multi-platinum selling Miley Cyrus will appear in the one-hour special, “Miley Cyrus: Live from London,” FRIDAY, JUNE 18 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The concert was filmed at the famed O2 Arena in London during her sold-out worldwide tour and contains excerpts from her live show. The program captures how Miley, who has grown up in the public eye, has grown as an artist, and reveals her natural progression and sophistication. The concert is gleaned from the full-length concert that will be available for sale June 22 on the deluxe version of Miley’s album.
In the ABC concert special, Miley will be performing some of her biggest hits, including “Seven Things,” “Party in the USA” and “The Climb.”
Executive-produced by Tish Cyrus and Jason Morey, “Miley Cyrus: Live from London,” which will be broadcast in HD with 5.1-channel surround sound, was directed by Russell Thomas and produced by Jim Parsons. The night the concert was filmed, Miley broke all attendance records at the 02 Arena, and the performance was just one of her five sold-out shows there.
On TUESDAY, MAY 18 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,” multiplatinum recording artist and actress Miley Cyrus will perform the live television debut of her new hit single, “Can’t Be Tamed,” from her upcoming album releasing June 22 on Hollywood Records. Also performing a medley of her new single, “Loving You is Easy,” and her classic, “Angel,” on Tuesday is groundbreaking, Grammy Award-winning, multiplatinum recording artist Sarah McLachlan. Accompanying her on the dance floor will be pros Jonathan, Anna, Kym, Dmitry, Damian and Lacey. McLachlan releases her new album, “Laws of Illusion,” on June 15th — her first studio album of brand new songs in seven years — on Arista Records. She has sold over 40 million recordings worldwide since her recording career began in 1988 with her debut album. Each and every one of her albums has been certified Gold or Platinum. McLachlan’s public service announcement created to benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has raised a record-breaking $30 million and is considered one of the most successful fundraising efforts ever. In 1997, as co-founder of Lilith Fair (www.lilithfair.com), a celebration of women in music, she kick-started an entire cultural movement when told that there was no audience for touring female musicians. Lilith brought together nearly two million people over its three-year history (1997-1999) and raised more than $10 million for charities, benefiting women’s shelters along the tour route. After 11 years, Lilith makes its return with a 36-city summer tour from June 27 through August 16.
After a bit of an oops! in which Hollywood Records had its own video suspended for copyright violation, they managed to reveal the new Miley Cyrus single Can’t Be Tamed off the album of the same title which hits the shelves on June 22.
In lieu of an actual music video, the YouTube offers up a photo of Miley along with the lyrics from the song sync’d to the music.

Miley has grown up in the public eye, and her new CD reveals her natural progression and sophistication. Miley teamed with Grammy Award-winning producer John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi) and long-time Miley Cyrus collaborators Tim James & Antonina Armato (“Seven Things” and “See You Again”). Tim & Antonina produced and co-wrote “Can’t Be Tamed” with Miley, and the video was directed by MTV Award-winning Robert Hales (Justin Timberlake, Gnarls Barkley, Kings of Leon.) “Can’t Be Tamed” is a self-empowering song in which Miley asserts that she has to stay true to herself in relationships, and it is sure to become an anthem among her legions of fans around the world. Miley has several high profile appearances this summer including Rock in Rio dates in Lisbon May 29 and Madrid June 6, Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series in Central Park, Live! with Regis & Kelly June 18, and the Much Music Video Awards June 20 (Miley is co-hosting and performing on Much Music Video Awards).
Cyrus stars in the hit Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana,” which is currently in production in its fourth season. She also starred in the feature film, “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” which topped the box office on its opening weekend. She currently stars in the drama, “The Last Song,” scripted by Nicolas Sparks.
She is also the best-selling author of Miles to Go, her first book that shares her inspiring story, spanning from her Southern roots in Tennessee to the excitement of her record-setting triumphs in TV, music and film. In addition, Miley Cyrus and designer Max Azria of apparel house BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP, Inc. have teamed up to create Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, a new apparel line exclusive to Walmart.
Miley recently partnered with Youth Service America and founded Get Ur Good On, an online network of youth supporting each other in their mission to do “good” in their communities. She is also involved with numerous charities including City of Hope, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and American Red Cross, among others.
First the show inspired the attraction, then the attraction spawned a contestant and now Disney is invading the stage this week as Miley Cyrus will not only mentor the Billboard #1 hits themed show this week, but she will also perform her song When I Look of You from her upcoming film The Last Song. Also joining Miley on stage during the results show on Wednesday night will be Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato performing their new joint Make a Wave which will be featured in Disneynature’s upcoming release OCEANS.
Production begins Monday in Hollywood on the fourth season of the global sensation “Hannah Montana,” one filled with exciting, pivotal story arcs and event episodes. The hit series’ finale episode will air in spring 2011 on Disney Channel U.S. and, shortly thereafter, on Disney Channels around the world, where the total of 101 episodes will continue in daily encore telecasts. Starring Miley Cyrus in the title role, the Emmy-nominated comedy has dominated the kid and tween business and impacted popular culture since its 2006 debut. Its soundtracks are among the biggest, fastest successes the pop charts have seen in years, and the series provided a springboard for the multitalented Cyrus to become an international superstar with projects spanning Disney’s television, music, radio, consumer products and film divisions, including a #1 debut movie that grossed nearly $150 million at the global box office.
“’Hannah Montana’ has defined a generation of kids and tweens – not just as a television event, but as a significant moment in pop culture history. This fourth season is an expression of Miley Cyrus’ personal commitment to ensuring that ‘Hannah’ will live forever in the hearts and minds of kids everywhere,” said Gary Marsh, Chief Creative Officer and President, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.
A two-part cliffhanger, “Miley Says Goodbye?,” will conclude the current season SUNDAY, MARCH 7 and SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (7:30 p.m., ET/PT both nights) on Disney Chanel. In the episode, which will also be available on DVD from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, Miley Stewart faces the biggest decision of her life – whether to say goodbye to her life in Malibu or to listen to her heart and return to her Crowley Corners ranch and beloved horse Blue Jeans in Tennessee. Meanwhile, Jackson (played by Jason Earles) moves into his own apartment, Lilly (played by actress and recording artist Emily Osment) is contemplating what to do after her mom accepts a job in Atlanta, and Oliver (played by actor and recording artist Mitchel Musso) must decide whether to stay with his two best friends or go on the road to pursue his fledgling music career.
The fourth season, debuting on Disney Channel in summer 2010, will introduce all-new songs, music videos and sets. The storyline finds Miley Stewart questioning whether she has the best of both worlds and if she can continue with her alter-ego, Hannah Montana, or leave it all behind forever to be an ordinary girl. The season will include guest stars Ray Liotta (“Goodfellas”) and Angus T. Jones (“Two and a Half Men”), among others.
It’ll be another 20 years before we’ll learn if she’ll be eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but today we have learned what has long been suspected – Hannah Montana is calling it quits.
The New York Post reports confirmation from Disney that the next season, which begins taping later this month and will debut in the fall of 2010, will be the last for the show that brought a whole new life to the Disney Channel. The report outlines the final season as paralleling the lives of Miley Cyrus and character Miley Stewart as they each grapple with leaving behind the personas that have propelled them both to fame. The one hour season 3 finale, titled ‘Is Miley Saying Goodbye?’ will air in Mid-March and will reveal what Miley Stewart’s intentions are for her final year.
Cyrus will next be starring in The Last Song for Disney’s Touchstone Pictures, due out April 2, to be followed by an adaptation of the New York Times Best Seller Wings, also for Disney.
Based on best-selling novelist Nicholas Sparks’ (“A Walk to Remember,” “The Notebook”) latest novel, THE LAST SONG is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (GREG KINNEAR) gets a chance to spend the summer with his reluctant teenaged daughter (MILEY CYRUS), who’d rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common—music—in a story of family, friendship, secrets and salvation, along with first loves and second chances. The film is directed by Julie Anne Robinson from a screenplay by Sparks & Jeff Van Wie.
