Touchstone Pictures has released the first few images from its upcoming film The Last Song on the film’s FaceBook page.
Based on best-selling novelist Nicholas Sparks’ (“A Walk to Remember,” “The Notebook”) forthcoming novel, THE LAST SONG is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (GREG KINNEAR) gets a chance to spend the summer with his reluctant teenaged daughter (MILEY CYRUS), who’d rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common—music—in a story of family, friendship, secrets and salvation, along with first loves and second chances.

BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 7 — Disney Music Group’s Hollywood Records has reason to celebrate this week, as they hold 3 titles in the top 15 of Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart with debuts by multi-platinum selling Breaking Benjamin (Dear Agony) at # 4, Selena Gomez & The Scene (Kiss & Tell) at # 9 and the multi-platinum selling Miley Cyrus (The Time of Our Lives) at # 11. This is the third time in 2 years for Hollywood Records to hold 3 titles in the top 15.
Breaking Benjamin’s Dear Agony is the follow up to their back to back platinum albums Phobia and We Are Not Alone. Selena Gomez is the star of Disney Channel’s hugely popular show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and Kiss & Tell marks her musical debut with her band The Scene with a top ten album, selling over 65,800 units. Selena Gomez & The Scene made their national television debut on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” results show on September 29. Variety is reporting that Disney has acquired the film rights to Aprilynne Pike’s debut novel and New York Times Best Seller, Wings, as a starring vehicle for Miley Cyrus. The tween supernatural-slash-romance novel is set to be the first of a series of four (Pike has announced she’s currently working on the sequel, Spells) and centers around a fifteen year old named Laurel who gets more than she bargains for when she enters the public school system for the first time.
Cyrus is currently working on the Nicholas Spark project, The Last Song and a new season of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana.
Miley Cyrus Performs for Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s Star-Studded Event, Sponsored by Disney
LOS ANGELES, June 9 — Celebrities helped create a generation free of HIV at the 20th annual A Time For Heroes Family Picnic, held June 7 in Los Angeles in support of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. More than 80 of Hollywood’s best-known names volunteered their time as “heroes” working carnival-style game booths and interacting with guests and families. Drawn from the worlds of film, television, fashion, sports and music were such attendees as Heidi Klum, Mark Wahlberg, Dwyane Wade, Billy Crystal, Sharon Stone, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Tony Hawk among many others. The day was topped off with a musical performance by superstar and Disney recording artist Miley Cyrus. The fun-filled day combined play with purpose as guests also learned about the Foundation’s 20-year history of battling pediatric AIDS and helping children and families around the world. BENTONVILLE, Ark., June 3 — Walmart today announced the introduction of Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, a new clothing line available only at Walmart. Walmart brings together best-selling artist and entertainer Miley Cyrus and Max Azria of apparel house BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP, Inc. to offer customers affordable and trend-right apparel. The line will arrive in all Walmart stores and on Walmart.com in early August, and includes tops, pants, graphic tees, shoes and accessories, all priced less than $20.
“Our launch of the Miley Cyrus & Max Azria line continues our strategy of engaging customers across categories,” said John Fleming, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S. “This time, we’re bringing together a leading entertainer and a top apparel house to bring exciting product and price leadership to our customers.”

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of “Sonny With A Chance,” TV’s #1 program for Kids 6-11 and#1 scripted program for Tweens 9-14, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide. The series, which premiered in February, stars Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Brandon Mychal Smith, Doug Brochu and Allisyn Ashley Arm. It was created by Steve Marmel, who executive-produces along with Michael Feldman, Brian Robbins and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett.
Marsh said: “’Sonny’ was a hit right out of the gate, thanks in no small part to the stratospheric trajectory of our newest star, Demi Lovato.
