Stella McCartney designs a limited edition costume jewelry necklace and bracelet inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Tim Burton’s highly anticipated film, featuring favorite characters from the classic Lewis Carroll tales, hits the big screen on March 5, 2010 (U.S. theatres). Stella McCartney uses the iconic images from the epic 3D fantasy tale and translates them into a cheeky and playful design. The chain is adorned with plexi Alice charms such as a rabbit, a Mad Hatter’s hat; a suit of: spade, club, hearts and diamond, all in Stella McCartney’s usual color palette of muted pinks, nudes, taupe and brown. Additionally, pearl baubles and Swarovski crystals accents provide a feminine touch.
Woody’s Run-Around Roundup, featuring the gang from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story, follows Wild Planet’s successful listen-think-move format and promotes physical and mental exercise. It can be played indoors or out, solo or in teams, and does not require the use of a computer or television.
Woody (atop his horse Bullseye) is the electronic hand-held tagger in the game and his Toy Story co-stars Buzz Lightyear, Jesse, Hamm and Rex are targets. Players listen for Woody to call out clues about different characters, then run to and tag the corresponding targets.
Hallmark introduced a new line of greeting cards today using what’s come to be known as augmented reality. The greetings cards, while fully functional as traditional cards, offer a unique and innovative experience by allowing the recipient to use the card as a platform for a 3D animated sequence come to life right before their eyes.
Disney fans may recognize this as the same technology that Disneyland pushed heavily last summer with the Fantasmic! Dragon and the Become a Villain game.
Hallmark UK is poised to take the greeting card business to the next level this February when it unveils the UK’s first ever video greeting card. With a limited edition of only 1500, the Valentine’s Day card features a video of five classic Disney romantic moments from films including Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin which plays when the card is opened.
Available at Clintons Cards locations throughout the UK, the video greeting card will retail for a little over $30 US.

The closing of 2009 saw the end of an era for New York City in that the World of Disney, located in the world-famous Fifth Avenue shopping area, shuttered its doors forever. A taste of the Disney Parks, the World of Disney store was a sister store to its Downtown Disney counterparts, offering NYC residents and tourists the opportunity to purchase theme park merchandise, Disney on Broadway merchandise and — of course — NYC branded merchandise, some of which eventually became available at Youse Guys Moichendise in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
