The Walt Disney Studios is pleased to announce the addition of animated classics The Jungle Book and Sleeping Beauty to its prestigious Blu-ray™ Diamond Edition Collection. Released from the Disney vault for a limited time only, The Jungle Book opens to colorful new life on Blu-ray Diamond Edition in February 2014, while Sleeping Beauty awakens on stunning Blu-ray Diamond Edition in October 2014.
Except that what will be in store hasn’t happened before — at least not like this. On December 10, 2013, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release the beloved 1964 classic, Mary Poppins, on Blu-ray for the first time ever. That would place its release just a few days before Saving Mr. Banks opens in limited release on December 13 and on the same day its soundtrack, with music composed by Thomas Newman, is slated to be released.
In honor of the Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3, available to own on September 24 with digital download on September 9, 2013, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Marvel Studios have provided us with hi-res versions of stills from the bonus feature, the ‘Marvel One Short: Agent Carter’ film, along with its promotional poster. The fourth entry into the ‘Marvel One Shot’ series, ‘Agent Carter’ features Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger. The film takes place after the events of The First Avenger and offers the latest expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The short will see its premiere at San Diego Comic-con later this week.

With thanks to a couple of recent entries from the British Board of Film Classification (the rich man’s MPAA), we now have additional details regarding the bonus features for the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray which will be available to own on September 24 with HD Digital Download available beginning September 9.
In addition to the assigned titles of the deleted scenes (which not-so-coyly give insight as to what they may be about), we also have lengths for each bonus feature, all of which is provided below:
Deconstructing the Scene: Attack on Air Force One (8:19)
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today confirmed our earlier report that the ‘Phineas and Ferb’/Marvel crossover special, ‘Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel‘ will be released on DVD on October 1, 2013 and is now available for pre-order. In addition, they have provided us with several stills from the episode, which have been made into a gallery below.
After Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest ‘-inator’ scheme accidentally removes the powers of some very well-known Marvel Super Heroes (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk), the heroes enter the world of Danville and team up with Phineas and Ferb to relocate their powers, defeat the Marvel Super Villains (Red Skull, MODOK, Whiplash and Venom) – who have also shown up to steal Doofenshmirtz’s power-draining technology – and save Danville from ultimate destruction!
Ahead of any official announcements, Amazon.com has begun listing the DVD edition of the upcoming Phineas and Ferb/Marvel crossover special, ‘Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel‘ with a release date of October 1, 2013. No additional information has been provided at this time.
In ‘Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel,’ Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and Hulk stand powerless after being struck by Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s power-draining ‘inator.’ Once the Marvel Super Villains — Red Skull, Whiplash, Venom and M.O.D.O.K. — find out that Dr. Doofenshmirtz is responsible for robbing the Super Heroes of their powers, they seek him out and together create mayhem in Danville. Meanwhile, Phineas and Ferb do everything they can to restore the Super Heroes’ powers before the evil villains take over the world.
Ahead of any official announcement, Walmart has begun listing the 20th Anniversary edition of Nightmare Before Christmas on 3D and 2D Blu-ray with a release date of September 10, 2013. Previously Amazon.com had listed it briefly with a release date of August 27, but soon switched dates (it’s currently listed as June 21, but unavailable).
Additionally, a hardcover book written and illustrated by Tim Burton is slated for release on August 6, 2013.
Although there have been many rumors circulating around a domestic release date for this summer’s blockbuster, Iron Man 3, starring Robert Downey Jr. as eccentric billionaire Tony Stark, thanks to a DisneyStore.com listing for the 2D edition, we now have an official release date of September 24, 2013. Amazon.com lists the 3D/2D/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack available for pre-order.
Oddly enough, there is no mention of bonus features yet, but thanks to a tip from the forums at hidefninja.com, we have a list of potential bonus feature candidates from the Amazon Italy’s listing for the steelbook edition of the film. While we are still awaiting an official announcement for release (hopefully with confirmed list of bonuses), here are some ideas of what we might expect:
