‘The Avengers’ Panel at NY Comic-Con to Feature Cast, New Footage

New York Comic Con (NYCC) is proud to announce Marvel Studios, for the first time ever, will participate in this October’s NYCC. Marvel Studios will present a special event in NYCC’s IGN Theater – Presented by Sprint on Saturday, October 15th from 6:30-7:30 PM, a high-profile panel focused on the upcoming feature film Marvel’s The Avengers. Marvel Studios will debut never-before-seen footage from The Avengers, and panelists will include Kevin Feige (Producer), Chris Evans (Captain America), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson), and Cobie Smulders (Agent Hill). The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4th, 2012.

‘Toy Story 3,’ ‘Alice’ Lead Oscar Nominations for Walt Disney Studios

The nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards were announced earlier today by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and 2009 Oscar® winner Mo’Nique. When all is said and done, Walt Disney Studios racked up a total of thirteen nominations, the bulk of which were divided by Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Walt Disney Studios Buys Distribution Rights for ‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘The Avengers’ from Paramount

The Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios announced they have reached an agreement under which Paramount will transfer its worldwide marketing and distribution rights to Disney for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers and Iron Man 3. Paramount will remain the worldwide distributor of the upcoming films, Thor and Captain America, as well as the previously released Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Under terms of the new deal, Disney will pay Paramount $115 million for the transfer of the distribution rights to Iron Man 3 and The Avengers to be paid on the theatrical release dates. These monies will serve as a minimum guarantee against the distribution fees.

UDReplicas to Debut ‘TRON: Legacy’ Light-Up Motorcycle Suit at San Diego Comic-con

UDReplicas, a subsidiary of Universal Design, made a name for itself when it debuted its officially licensed Dark Knight motorcycle and gear last year. This year, they return to San Diego Comic-con and will offer up three new suits inspired by Disney’s TRON and Marvel’s X-Men and Iron Man.

The TRON suit which features light-up elements will be on display at the Disney booth (3712) but for those unable to attend the event or unable to wait, here’s a sneak peek (make sure you watch it all the way through, or at least jump ahead to :45 or so:

Photocall: ‘Iron Man 2′ Press Junket at Los Angeles Four Seasons Hotel

Pirates mingle with guests in costume at POTC4 Trailer Event at Disneyland Resort A press junket and photocall were offered yesterday in support of Disney/Marvel’s upcoming summer blockbuster Iron Man 2. In attendance for the photocall were Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Ironman), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), Don Cheadle (Lt. Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes), Scarlett Johansson (Natalie Rushman/Natasha Romanoff), Mickey Rourke (Ivan Vanko) and Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan/Director).

We’d like to thank Paramount Pictures for providing us with these images which were taken by Jason Merritt/Getty Images and Michael Buckner/WireImage. Furthermore, we feel obligated to note that the disproportionate number of Scarlett Johansson photos was in fact an editorial decision.
