Marvel Studios announced today that they will be sponsoring a Global Twitter Chat on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2 pm ET/11 am PST with cast members and the director of their highly anticipated action-adventure Marvel’s The Avengers, opening in theaters on May 4, 2012. The 30-minute live tweeting event features writer/director Joss Whedon and cast members Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg.

Stan Lee to Narrate More Marvel ‘Origin’ Apps for iOS, Available in February

Disney Publishing Worldwide announced today that two more storybook app titles based on the original Marvel Origins series will join ‘The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story‘ app, which launched last month. The new titles, both narrated by comic book legend Stan Lee, include ‘Avengers Origins: Hulk’ and ‘Avengers Origins: Assemble!’ which will be available for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch in February 2012.

NYCC: ‘The Avengers’ Panel Featuring Cast (Full HD Video, Photos)

'The Avengers' Teaser PosterModerated by Chris Hardwick (The Nerdist), the star-studded panel for Marvel’s The Avengers from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios was arguably the highlight of the 2011 New York Comic-Con, which took place this past weekend. Taking place in the IGN Theatre, the approximately 2,000 seat hall was filled to capacity with a large standby line hours before the presentation. With many Avangers fans lining up when the doors opened to get in at 11 am, announcements began going out around 3 pm advising attendees that if they leave the room, they will not be able to return due to the demand.

‘The Avengers’ Trailer Shatters iTunes Record with Over 10M Downloads in 24 Hours

'The Avengers' Teaser PosterMarvel Studios announced today that the trailer for next summer’s most highly anticipated movie, Marvel’s The Avengers, has been downloaded over 10 million times in its first 24 hours on iTunes Movie Trailers shattering the most-viewed trailer record in the site’s history.

The trailer, which debuted Tuesday, October 11, exclusively on iTunes Movie Trailers, gives fans a sneak peak at Marvel’s The Avengers — the Super Hero team up of a lifetime — based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series The Avengers, first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since.

‘Strange’ Domain Registrations May Point to Next Marvel Studios Project

Last week, Disney Music Group registered several domain names for upcoming television and movie soundtracks, many of which are already announced projects from Marvel Studios. The only registration that relates to an unannounced project, but is known to be in the works, is that of Doctor Strange. Known to be in development for a very long period of time, Marvel Studios has made news in the recent past by hiring Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to write the latest script and have reportedly shopped it around to potential directors.

‘The Avengers’ Panel at NY Comic-Con to Feature Cast, New Footage

New York Comic Con (NYCC) is proud to announce Marvel Studios, for the first time ever, will participate in this October’s NYCC. Marvel Studios will present a special event in NYCC’s IGN Theater – Presented by Sprint on Saturday, October 15th from 6:30-7:30 PM, a high-profile panel focused on the upcoming feature film Marvel’s The Avengers. Marvel Studios will debut never-before-seen footage from The Avengers, and panelists will include Kevin Feige (Producer), Chris Evans (Captain America), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson), and Cobie Smulders (Agent Hill). The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4th, 2012.

‘Toy Story 3,’ ‘Alice’ Lead Oscar Nominations for Walt Disney Studios

The nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards were announced earlier today by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and 2009 Oscar® winner Mo’Nique. When all is said and done, Walt Disney Studios racked up a total of thirteen nominations, the bulk of which were divided by Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Walt Disney Studios Buys Distribution Rights for ‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘The Avengers’ from Paramount

The Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios announced they have reached an agreement under which Paramount will transfer its worldwide marketing and distribution rights to Disney for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers and Iron Man 3. Paramount will remain the worldwide distributor of the upcoming films, Thor and Captain America, as well as the previously released Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Under terms of the new deal, Disney will pay Paramount $115 million for the transfer of the distribution rights to Iron Man 3 and The Avengers to be paid on the theatrical release dates. These monies will serve as a minimum guarantee against the distribution fees.
