Photos: Scarlett Johansson Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Walt Disney Studios has provided us with several images from the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony held earlier today in which Marvel’s The Avengers star Scarlett Johansson was awarded a star on the legendary promenade.
Johansson stars in the summer blockbuster as Black Widow. At the event, she was joined by fellow co-stars Clark Gregg and Jeremy Renner along with her grandmother.
In Marvel’s The Avengers, the world’s greatest Super Heroes assemble when Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) join S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to protect the world from the dangerous and powerful villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Marvel’s The Avengers opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, May 4.

Report: Marvel ‘Avengers’ Exhibit Opens at Madame Tussauds New York
The Avengers have assembled once more, but this time in wax. Late last week, Madame Tussauds in New York City’s Times Square introduced a new Marvel experience to commemorate the theatrical debut of Marvel’s The Avengers on May 4, 2012.
The exhibit is comprised of several figures, amongst which are Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, although only the latter two are new figures for the Museum chain. In fact Hulk stands at an astounding 15 feet tall, which is almost double that of the film’s character, and while Tony Stark may be made of wax, the Iron Man suit on display is not. Captain America and Thor, however, are absolutely true to their individual film counterparts, dress in film accurate costume and patterned after actors Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans.
After visiting the gallery life-sized Marvel icons, guests of the Museum are invited to watch a 4D movie featuring several of the Marvel superheroes. The short 3D film (which ironically shares a plot point with Marvel’s The Avengers) is CG and was actually initially created for and exhibited at Madame Tussauds London.
Although the press release promises elements of interactivity in the exhibit, I didn’t manage to spot any (Thor seemed particularly attached to Mjolnir), but it didn’t seem to take anything away from the exhibit which fits right in with the rest of the museum.
Below is a gallery of photos I took while visiting the Marvel experience:

Video: Agents Assemble in Farmers Insurance ‘The Avengers’ Ad
J.K. Simmons reprises his role as Professor Nathaniel Burke, taking agents at the University of Farmers under his tutelage as he teaches them the fine art of being ‘superheroes of insurance.’ In the 30 second spot, titled ‘Suit Up,’ Professor Burke and the agents explore the similarities between being a Super Hero and being a super agent. The spot continues with a lighthearted exchange between Professor Burke and his agents, dressed in do-it-yourself costumes representing each of Marvel’s The Avengers’ characters: The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow and Hawkeye.True fact: Tony Stark used a countless number of staples when creating the Iron Man suit.
The spot will launch on April 16, during primetime programming including ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ ’2 Broke Girls’ and ‘Biggest Loser,’ and will run on cable networks that resonate with Marvel’s The Avengers fans, such as AMC, Comedy Central, TBS, TNT and Discovery Channel. Integrated creative will also run online on ABC, CBS and Hulu.
But wait, there’s more! The folks at Farmers are so enamored (enarmored?) by their do-it-yourself Avengers costumes, they’ve not only documented the magic in the behind-the-scenes video below, but have produced a series of diagrams demonstrating how any fan can miraculously transform into the doppelganger of Marvel’s iconic heroes. A full gallery demonstrating the costumes of Thor, Captain America (the before photo), Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow can be found on their official Facebook page, just in time for San Diego Comic-Con (or whatever you like to do on Thursday nights in the privacy of your own home, we don’t judge).
Now how much would you pay? Don’t answer yet! The ad will also be recreatedin comic book form and will be run in select Marvel comic books in May and June.

‘The Avengers’ Dozens of New Stills Feature Loki, Quinjet, Helicarrier and More
Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios recently provided us with production notes for their upcoming release, Marvel’s The Avengers. In addition to plenty of information on the actual production of the film, the document was filled with images, many of which we do not recall seeing before (apologies in advance for any not so new stills). Unfortunately the images themselves are a bit small, but the amount of eye candy produced is still pretty huge.
The stills pretty much cover all of The Avengers, highlighting Hulk and Tony Stark / Iron Man but also give us some nice images of Loki as well as the hardware behind the crimefighting squad, namely the Quinjet and the Helicarrier, both inside as well as out.
Marvel’s The Avengers will be released in the U.S. in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 4, 2012.

‘The Avengers’ ‘Isolated’ Ad Shines Spotlight on Internal Struggles
As it turns out, assembling the world’s greatest superheroes together is the easy part — the challenge is making them play nicely with each other.
We have managed to come across a new 30 second television spot for Marvel’s The Avengers titled ‘Isolated.’ The ad features Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) talking about how each of the heroes are ‘isolated’ and ‘unbalanced,’ but when combined, ‘can become something more.’ It then quickly cuts to the group assembling for the first time, much to the apparent dismay of billionaire philanthropist Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).
Although the film will debut in theaters nationwide on May 4, the cast of The Avengers will next assemble for the red carpet world premiere Wednesday, April 11th at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT. The event will be streamed live online. For more information on how you can watch the world premiere red carpet, click here.

Video: Dr Pepper Launches ‘The Avengers’ Campaign with Collectible Cans, Online Game
In honor of Marvel’s The Avengers, Dr Pepper has announced it has released a limited edition series of collectible cans, each featuring one of the Avengers as well as Loki. When assembled, the cans form a larger image of the iconic superhero team.
‘Dr Pepper and Marvel’s The Avengers fans both crave epic adventure,’ said Dave Fleming, director of marketing for Dr Pepper. ‘Dr Pepper is teaming up with Marvel to provide a one-of-a-kind Marvel’s The Avengers experience — something fans can’t get anywhere else.’
A new Dr Pepper commercial dramatizes the potential for anyone to be a hero. The light-hearted spot features a group of one-of-a-kind people assembling to impress comic book legend Stan Lee who makes a camo in the spot.
For those who can’t wait to take down Loki and his evil army, Dr Pepper has also released ‘Skrulls Takedown,’ a free online game on DrPepper.com inspired by the numerous classic battles featured in Marvel comic books over the last forty years between the alien shapeshifters and the Avengers. For those looking to become one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, this addictive game allows fans to emulate their favorite Avengers member, just as they appear in the New Avengers comic book and fight for justice as Thor, Iron Man, Captain America or The Hulk. Fans can share their high scores and challenge friends to join in on the action via Twitter and Facebook.
