CONFIRMED: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ on Digital HD April 1, Blu-ray April 5

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Blu-rayAhead of any impending official announcement, Walt Disney Home Entertainment has solidly confirmed an April 5, 2016 release date for the Blu-ray edition of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The news initially came to our attention via Disney Store who has updated their listing to include the new date, although they do not list any bonus features. In our experience, when Disney Store lists an ‘expected by’ date, it’s pretty solid as far as release dates.

New ‘Finding Dory’ Still of Destiny the Whale Shark in Ultra High Resolution

In honor of today’s earlier release of the first trailer for Finding Dory (June 17, 2016), Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have provided us with an ultra high resolution still from the film featuring Dory encountering her old friend, Destiny, for the first time all over again. Voiced by Kaitlin Olson, Destiny is a whale shark — so does that make her a whale or a shark? There’s no way science could know for sure. Destiny is just one of Dory’s many new friends in the film such as Hank, Bailey, Little Dory, Gerald and more.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Blu-ray Art Materializes as Pre-Order Vanishes

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Blu-raySeveral days ago, we noted on Twitter that Walmart had begun accepting pre-orders for Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a dummy release date of 12/31/16. While we accept that Walmart may do this type of pre-order often, we rarely see them do so with Disney titles without a semi-solid release date. Apparently their system can’t handle the ability to accept pre-orders without a release date like Amazon does and given that the title is such a hot seller, we can’t argue the temptation.
