CONFIRMED: Disney/Pixar to Re-title ‘The Bear and the Bow’ as ‘Brave’

UPDATE: Following our initial report on the domain name and trademark registrations, Disney has also gone ahead and registered a few trademark applications specifically for DISNEY PIXAR BRAVE. Here’s an example. Note although the application was filed on March 12, it takes a few days for it to become accessible to us.

They did it to Rapunzel. Big signs are pointing to them doing it to Secretariat. And now it appears the next victim may be the Disney/Pixar original fairy tale The Bear and the Bow.

Disney/Pixar Introduces Sparks from Toy Story 3, Debuts International Poster

[SinglePic not found]Admittedly we’ve fallen slightly behind when it comes to keeping up with the Pixars, so we’ll attempt to cram in as much news about Toy Story 3 a we can into this one little article.

First up is the introduction of new Toy Story 3 pal Sparks. Sparks’ manufacturer’s description is as follows: Sparks will fly – literally – during electrifying playtimes with your new robot friend Sparks! This retro-inspired toy has flashing red LED eyes and a blaster cavity that actually spits out real sparks when he’s rolled along on his sturdy rubber wheels. Sparks also sports telescoping arms with working pincers, and an elevator action that raises his entire body to new heights. Sparking action completely child-safe. Requires two AA batteries (not included).

Photo Gallery: Pixar Screens Toy Story 3, Receives ShoWest Big Ten Award

Jordin Sparks, Schwartz Family at Disney Store Times Square Grand Opening Party (Photo by Stuart Ramson) Earlier today, after a presentation of Toy Story 3 to attendees at the ShoWest convention at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas, Disney/Pixar’s John Lasseter, Lee Unkrich and Darla Anderson accepted the Big Ten award on behalf of Pixar Animation Studios in honor of its ten-in-a-row box office smashes.

The award may be a bit premature, however, if even a single percent of what we have heard from early reviews of Toy Story 3 is true. If so, the crew at Pixar are best advised to start working on their Big Eleven award acceptance speech.

Disney Consumer Products Welcomes Tiana to the Disney Princess Family in Unprecedented Ceremony

The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow at Disney's Hollywood Studios Disney Consumer Products offered an unprecedented event earlier today that had even the skies opening up and pouring tears of joy on the otherwise gloomy streets of New York City. The event, which had celebrities from television, film and theatre mingling with Disney royalty, had Princesses Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas and Mulan officially welcome Tiana from The Princess and the Frog to the Disney Princess family.

Held quite appropriately at the New York Palace luxury hotel, celebrities and their families such as Tina Fey (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live), Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Nine Dead, Melissa & Joey), Kelly Bensimon, Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), Audra McDonald (Private Practice), Nigel Barker (America’s Next Top Model), Matt Walton (One Life to Live), Amy Landecker, Miss Teen USA Stormi Bree Henley with Miss USA Kristen Dalton and more strolled down the purple carpet for the event. Also in attendance from the film, which comes out on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday were directors John Musker and Ron Clements along with voice talents Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Jennifer Cody (Charlotte), Michael-Leon Wooley (Louis) and Jennifer Lewis (Mama Odie).

Day Dreamer Long Sleeve Top with Lace Gloves Manufacturer: Jaya MSRP: $16.99 After the purple carpet was cleared and the honored guests had made their way indoors to the ballroom, a horse-drawn carriage rolled down Madison Avenue, stopped directly in front of the Palace and Princess Tiana took to the purple carpet herself, escorted by a live jazz band and dozens of her adoring fans.

The event itself began with Anika Noni Rose who addressed the gathered group of families consisting mostly of little girls dressed as Disney princesses. Rose said that the first dream she ever recalls having as a child was that she would grow up to be the voice of a Disney character and how her dream came true. She spoke of Tiana and offered her own advice to the princess’ fans: meeting Prince Charming is a great thing, but they should never lose sight of their dreams and who they are.
