Toy Story 3 Will Open Big on June 18 as First IMAX 3D Film from Pixar

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18, 2009  — IMAX Corporation and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures today announced that Toy Story 3, the third installment of the blockbuster hit franchise Toy Story, will be released to IMAX(R) 3D theatres simultaneously with its wide release on June 18, 2010. Toy Story 3 will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience(R) with proprietary IMAX DMR(R) (Digital Re-mastering) technology.

The Princess and the Frog Turns World Traveler in New Mash-Up Trailer on YouTube

Not too long ago, Walt Disney Animation Studios released (domestically) the Japanese trailer of The Princess and the Frog on the internet. Cranking the coolness factor up to just a tad past 11, a new mash-up (and slightly extended) version of the trailer is now available which features meshes the trailer together in Russian, Spanish, German, French, Hebrew, Italian, Greek, Icelandic and Ukranian in addition to Japanese and English. How does one say bravo in Italian?

ABC Family to Premiere ‘Bring It On: Fight to the Finish;’ Fifth Installment in Series

Through a recent promotion on its TRON Facebook page, Walt Disney Studios offered up ten fans selected at random to receive the following promotional image for the upcoming film which happens to be very scaled down billboard art.

The chosen few were given a link to the image (shown below in its entirety when you click on the smaller version) and asked to share the link which several have, although it appears to be the single image below.

Disney Registers Domain Names for ‘Keychest’ Service

The Walt Disney Company has just registered a series of domain names whose names imply that they’re intended for use with the recently announced ‘Keychest’ technology in which a subscriber can purchase rights to a Disney film and then watch it on-demand via any Keychest-accessible client, including PCs via the internet and on mobile phones.

Although it’s likely that some (or most (or even all)) of the names may not be put into effect, it’s a good sign that the company is furthering its plans to bring the digital locker to fruition. The names registered include: DISNEYDIGITALLOCKER.COM, DISNEYLOCKER.COM, DISNEYONLINEMOVIES.COM, DISNEYPLAYER.COM, DISNEYSTUDIOMOVIES.COM, DISNEYVAULTONLINE.COM, MYDISNEYMOVIESONLINE.COM, MYDISNEYONLINEMOVIES.COM, MYDISNEYVAULT.COM, WALTDISNEYMOVIESONLINE.COM and WATCHDISNEYONLINE.COM.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Come to Blu-ray/DVD March 23, 2010; Available Now for Pre-Order

Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in Blu-rayAlthough no formal press release from WDSHE has been released, DisneyStore.com has made Toy Story and Toy Story 2 available for pre-order today for a release date of March 23, 2010. The two titles are sold separately in both DVD only ($22) and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Packs ($30).

Not surprisingly, 3D doesn’t appear to be on the menu for the release (as was the case with UP), but here’s a glimpse of some of the reported extras for each disc:

Poster for ‘The Last Song’ Released

The Last SongTouchstone Pictures has just provided us with the theatrical poster for Nicholas Sparks’ The Last Song starring Miley Cyrus.

Based on best-selling novelist Nicholas Sparks’ (“A Walk to Remember,” “The Notebook”) latest novel, THE LAST SONG is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (GREG KINNEAR) gets a chance to spend the summer with his reluctant teenaged daughter (MILEY CYRUS), who’d rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common—music—in a story of family, friendship, secrets and salvation, along with first loves and second chances. The film is directed by Julie Anne Robinson from a screenplay by Sparks & Jeff Van Wie.
