More Stills and Information from Studio Ghibli’s ‘Tales from Earthsea’

Walt Disney Studios has provided us with additional stills from Tales from Earthsea from Studio Ghibli which we have added to our existing gallery, placing the new stills at the beginning in no particular order.

In her six-book series, author Ursula Le Guin created the magical land of Earthsea—a world of islands and water where wizardry is a science that allows one to control the elements, heal illness, calm earthquakes, make the wind blow in the sails of boats, and much more. In this world, Sparrowhawk, whose secret name is Ged, was chosen when he was a young and proud shepherd to learn magic. The books follow him on his heroic journey of self-discovery and redemption through the Darkness and back again.

Walt Disney Studios has just provided us with brand new stills from its upcoming release You Again starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver and Betty White. The new stills have been added to the beginning of the gallery below.

No matter how old you are, you never get over high school.  Successful PR pro Marni (Bell) heads home for her older brother’s (Jimmy Wolk) wedding and discovers that he’s marrying her high school arch nemesis (Odette Yustman), who’s conveniently forgotten all the rotten things she did so many years ago.  Then the bride’s jet-setting aunt (Weaver) bursts in and Marni’s not-so-jet-setting mom (Curtis) comes face to face with her own high school rival.  The claws come out and old wounds are opened in this crazy comedy about what happens when you’re reunited with the one person you’d like to forget.

On this, the eve of the release of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Walt Disney Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer, Disney has released the following clip from the film they’ve aptly titled ‘You should run.’

In the clip, Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) and his apprentice Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel) have journeyed to New York City’s Chinatown on a quest to find the Grimhold which has been missing for the past ten years. Unfortunately they find that the Grimhold has already fallen into the hands of Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) who has just released Sun Lok (Gregory Woo) from his wooden prison. New Poster and Stills Gallery from Goro Miyazaki’s ‘Tales from Earthsea’

Walt Disney Studios has just sent us this theatrical poster and several stills from their upcoming summer release Tales from Earthsea from Studio Ghibli, the partnership that most recently brought Ponyo to the United States.

Tales from Earthsea, directed by Goro Miyazaki, is loosely adapted from the third and fourth volumes in sci-fi author Ursula K. Le Guin’s infamous series of cult novels — all set in Earthsea, a Tolkien-esque fantasy realm. Gedo Senki opens at a point when Earthsea is deteriorating rapidly, and the power of magic is waning — tendencies signaled by the sudden, frightening reappearance of dragons in the land of humankind.
