Unofficially confirming a report we initially made over a month ago, Saving Mr. Banks will in fact be arriving on Disney Blu-ray on March 18, according to the newly dated listing on Amazon. Although the date has yet to be officially confirmed with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, this is in line with a previous listing from Walmart which has subsequently been removed.
In advance of the Blu-ray release of Thor: The Dark World (available to own February 25, (pre-order)), Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios has released one of the deleted scenes from the bonus features. Titled ‘Loki: The First Avenger,’ the scene features banter (and a little magic) between Thor and Loki and, well, pretty much what you might expect from the title. You can find the clip embedded below.
In honor of the release of the Dreams trailer featuring ‘Once Upon A Dream’ by Lana Del Rey, Walt Disney Studios has provided us with two new high-res stills from Maleficent, in theaters May 30, 2014. The new stills have been added to the beginning of our gallery embedded below. The single, which is currently free exclusively through Google Play, will be formally released on February 4 and has subsequently returned to Amazon, though a preview has yet to be posted. The full original motion picture soundtrack is slated for a May 27, 2014 release.
Earlier this evening, during the airing of the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on the CBS Network, Walt Disney Studios provided an exclusive sneak peek at its upcoming film, Maleficent (May 30, 2014). Featured in the ad for the film was a cover of the 1959 Sleeping Beauty classic, ‘Once Upon A Dream’ as performed by Lana Del Rey, which will play over the closing credits for the film. Del Rey was also nominated in two categories for the coveted Grammy: Best Pop Vocal (Paradise), Best Song Written for Visual Media (‘Young and Beautiful’ for The Great Gatsby). Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’ was also nominated for Best Re-mixed Recording, Non-classical for its mix by Cedric Gervais. You can check out the teaser trailer embedded below.
Potentially adding insult to injury — after confirming no foreseeable plans for a 3D Blu-ray domestic release — it turns out that the total length of the bonus features for the March 18, 2014 Blu-ray release of Frozen (pre-order) sum up to less than 40 minutes — and that includes four music videos.
We now have the running times for each of the bonus features, as per the British Board of Film Classification and aside from confirming that there appears to be no audio commentary, it also appears that some of the behind-the-scenes ‘documentary’ type material comes up short. The individual bonus features and their approximate length in minutes:seconds are as follows:
Toyota has released a 35 second preview of its upcoming minute-long Super Bowl ad featuring actor/ex-NFLer Terry Crews and The Muppets. Titled ‘Joyride,’ the spot will also feature an original song (heard in part here) titled ‘No Room for Boring.’ You can check out the teaser embedded below.
With their over-the-top personalities, the Muppets teach Crews’ character a thing or two about ‘unborifying’ his lifestyle as they ‘borrow’ his sweet ride, the Toyota Highlander. The spot features humorous hijinks, dancing and surprises — and no Muppet caper would be complete without an original song. Viewers will see that with seating for up to eight human passengers or more than a dozen Muppets, the all-new Toyota Highlander has plenty of room for everything — everything except boring.
According to a new listing on Amazon, Disney will release a cover of the Sleeping Beauty classic, ‘Once Upon A Dream’ as performed by Lana Del Rey for the original motion picture soundtrack of its upcoming film, Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie. The single will release on January 26. The news comes shortly after Walt Disney Studios teased the news that they will air a special sneak peek at the film during the Grammy Awards on CBS this Sunday. Presumably the spot will feature the new track.
Frozen audiences are invited to join the act — literally — as more than 1,000 theaters nationwide introduce an all-new sing-along version of Disney’s Oscar®-nominated, Golden Globe®-winning big-screen adventure beginning Jan. 31, 2014.
‘Frozen fans have embraced the film’s original songs and its soundtrack with such passion — there are countless YouTube videos from people singing songs like “Let It Go” — we decided to create a version that would celebrate that enthusiasm,’ said Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, The Walt Disney Studios. ‘It’s a great opportunity for families to get together and have some fun with these songs.’

Walt Disney Studios Spain has released a new international poster for Muppets Most Wanted (March 21, 2014) via Andromeda High. A variation on a previously released international poster, it puts co-stars Constantine and Kermit front and center while highlighting the rest of the cast, including Ty Burrell, Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey.
Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling our grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine — the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit — and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
