For consideration of best animated short, Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have released the beautiful and poetic — albeit grammatically flawed — pitch script for the short The Blue Umbrella, which played before Monsters University. It can be downloaded in PDF form directly here.
It is just another evening commute until the rain starts to fall, and the city comes alive to the sound of dripping rain pipes, whistling awnings and gurgling gutters. And in the midst, two umbrellas — one blue, one not — fall eternally in love.
In addition to Disney’s Frozen, Walt Disney Studios has also released the the script for Pixar’s Monsters University, which can be downloaded directly here. The script is credited to Daniel Gerson & Robert L. Baird and Dan Scanlon. The script for Saving Mr. Banks is also expected to be released but as of this time, it has not been.
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Branded as the Disney Frozen ‘Final Shooting Draft’ written by Jennifer Lee and dated September 23, 2013, Walt Disney Studios has now made the script for Frozen available for download, complete with lyrics by Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
Although not publicly linked to on the Studio’s ‘For Your Consideration’ awards website (which is still under development for this year), it can be downloaded via its direct link. The script is intended to make voting members of the various bodies aware of it for as consideration for best screenplay awards.
