The story of an arcade-game bad guy who embarks on a quest to prove he’s really a good guy, Wreck-It Ralph journeys through wildly diverse arcade-game worlds, including the ’80s-era, 8-bit video-game world of Fix-It Felix, Jr., the ultra-modern first-person shooter game Hero’s Duty and the candy-coated cart-racing game Sugar Rush. Helping to differentiate these worlds from one another are unique cinematography, animation, effects and music. ‘Music is another way to set the stage and make these worlds completely different,’ said producer Clark Spencer.
In conjunction with the release of the new Wreck-It Ralph trailer in honor of National Video Games Day, Walt Disney Animation Studios has also provided us with a few new hi-res stills from the film.
The new stills, which feature Fix-It Felix Jr. with the Nicelanders, Ralph with Vanellope von Schweetz, Sgt. Calhoun and ‘Hero’s Duty,’ have been added to the beginning of our gallery below. Click on any of the thumbnails to see a larger version:
And just in case you missed it, the new trailer is below, featuring new cameos from Frogger, Dig Dug and Tapper as well as Games Central Station safety monitor, Sonic the Hedgehog as well as music from Lipps Inc and FUN.
Yahoo! Movies has debuted the newest trailer for Wreck-It Ralph from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Set to background music including ‘Funky Town’ by Lipps Inc and ‘Some Nights’ by FUN., the trailer takes a better look at Ralph’s plight to become more than just the bad guy as he departs from his home of thirty years to explore other options, landing him in games such as ‘Hero’s Duty’ and ‘Sugar Rush,’ where he (eventually) finds a kindrid spirit in Vanellope von Schweetz, a glitch who feels out of her place in her own world too.
Walt Disney Studios has just released this new clip from its upcoming release of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. While New Holland seems like the picturesque town, it seems to attract more lightning than most locations. Could it be a result of the town windmill? Or is there more at play. In either case, in this clip titled ‘Lightning,’ new science teacher Mr. Ryzkruski (voiced by Martin Landau) explains to the class lightning’s rationale. But just what happened to the previous teacher anyway?
Also, from down under, we have a look at two new television ads for the film which contain quite a bit more animation, previously unseen.
Amazon.com has recently added an exclusive vinyl edition
of ‘Frankenweenie Unleashed!’ from Walt Disney Records. At this time, a track list for the Amazon exclusive hasn’t been posted, so it’s unknown whether it will simply be the same as the CD/digital edition or will contain remixes of the songs inspired by the film. Even missing the cover art, all the entry states is that it will be a double album and released on October 30, more than a month after the CD release and nearly a month after the film’s introduction to theaters.
