Walt Disney Studios has recently released a new clip from the upcoming musical Into the Woods (December 25, 2014) titled ‘Go to the Wood.’ In the clip, the Witch (Meryl Streep) makes a proposition to the Baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) in which she offers them the one thing they want most so that she too can have what she wants. Earlier today, both Blunt and Streep received Golden Globe Award nominations for their roles in the film, which caused Streep to break her own record of 29 total career nominations.
Admittedly it’s not much news in it of itself, but an updated synopsis for Ant-Man (July 17, 2015) provided to us by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios assigns character names to many of the ensemble cast. Details are as follows:

Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have released the first full length trailer for Inside Out (June 19, 2015), which you can find embedded below. It appears that a great deal of the ‘new’ footage was actually first shared at the Animation presentation at the 2013 Disney D23 Expo, if memory serves.

Ahead of any official announcement, Walmart has begun listing the Blu-ray and DVD editions of Big Hero 6 for a release date of February 24, 2015 (also available from Amazon without a release date posted). As part of its annual ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign during awards season, Walt Disney Studios has released the screenplay for Into The Woods (December 25, 2014), which it is offering in consideration of Best Adapted Screenplay by James Lapine, who wrote the book for the original staged musical. The PDF, which you can access here, also includes the song lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Latin music superstar Juanes has written an original song titled “Juntos (Together)” specifically for Disney’s “McFarland, USA,” which he recorded for the end title track of the movie. The day after learning he is once again a current GRAMMY® nominee, Juanes traveled to McFarland, California, this past weekend to film a music video of “Juntos (Together)” on location—drawing a huge crowd of fans excited to get a glimpse of the chart-topping music star.

If announcing Strange Magic just a couple of months before its theatrical release is any indication, Lucasfilm has some pretty interesting cards up its sleeve that it seems ready to produce at a moment’s notice — providing it’s when it’s least expected.
Recently, a new title appeared on Amazon.com for pre-order, titled Winter Tales Junior Novelization with the only clue being that it’s a tie-in to a feature film — a feature film that appears to have the same internet presence as Strange Magic did prior to its unveiling. Other than that, all that’s given is it’s 128 pages and slated for a release of
March 3, 2015 March 1, 2016.

Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel — all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
