‘Cars 2′ Clip: ‘Japan Race Party’ Featuring Lewis Hamilton, Jeff Gorvette

CARS 2: World Grand Prix Teaser PosterWalt Disney Studios has released this new clip from the upcoming Disney/Pixar film, Cars 2. In the clip, we’re still in Tokyo, this time at the pre-race gathering where superstar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) meets up with fellow A-Listers Lewis Hamilton and Jeff Gorvette (voiced by NASCAR star Jeff Gordon). Meanwhile, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) finds himself in awe of all the new sights and sounds of being outside Radiator Springs and ends up sticking his tire in his grill when he makes an ignorant suggestion to the Zen Master. Wasabi with that?

‘Cars 2′ Clip: Mater Meets Finn McMissile

CARS 2: World Grand Prix Teaser PosterYou’ll no doubt recognize the final couple of lines from this newly released clip of Disney/Pixars Cars 2, but here’s your opportunity to catch up the 20 seconds or so leading up to it. In the clip, Mater is preparing to catch a flight at the airport in Japan, but finds himself detained by helplessly detained by security who has a surprise in store.

All the world’s a racetrack as racing superstar Lightning McQueen zooms back into action, with his best friend Mater in tow, to take on the globe’s fastest and finest in this thrilling high-octane new installment of the Cars saga. Mater and McQueen will need their passports as they find themselves in a new world of intrigue, thrills and fast-paced comedic escapades around the globe.

‘Cars 2′ New Clip: ‘Japan Race’ Featuring Lightning McQueen and Francesco

CARS 2: World Grand Prix Teaser PosterDisney/Pixar has released this new clip from its summer blockbuster sequel, Cars 2, which takes a look at the start of the first of three races of the World Grand Prix: Japan. Eager to take the top prize with his Radiator Springs pinch hitting as his pit crew, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) prepares to go hood-to-hood against F1 champ and number one fan of himself, Francesco (John Turturro). It’s clear from the clip here that McQueen is definitely in it to win it and nothing can stop him from taking the first race.

‘Cars 2′ Public Service Announcement (Russian)

Walt Disney Studios has released the following public service announcement (PSA) featuring Mater and Lightning McQueen as Mater (inexplicably dressed as a zebra, perhaps in support for John Rich’s recent ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ win?) teaches a young forklift to pay attention to the walk/don’t walk signs when crossing the street, only cross at the designated crosswalk and to look both ways before crossing even when given the green light. If the fact that Lightning McQueen nearly proceeds to run the poor lad over, the real message of the PSA is that both pedestrians and motorists need to look out for each other. And then they all get ice cream.

First Look: ‘Cars 2′ ‘Pitties’ Commercial from State Farm Insurance

State Farm Insurance, sponsor of the Cars 2Agents on a Mission Tour‘ which has spent the past few months touring North America with its life-size radio/controlled replicas of Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater and Finn McMissile, has released this new television commercial featuring many of the characters from the upcoming film as well as car-ified State Farm agent, Sara Safestreet, and her crew of pitties.

The commercial is set to make its national television debut on May 24 during programming such as the ‘American Idol’ finale. In addition, State Farm will sponsor a pre-show campaign at select theaters beginning June 10, two weeks ahead of the nationwide release of Disney/Pixar’s Cars 2, on June 24.

‘Cars 2′ Japanese Trailer Highlights Relationship Troubles for Mater (Minor Spoilers)

In true to form fashion, the Japanese film trailer for Disney’s latest film, Cars 2, from Pixar Animation Studios gets depressing. Here, a sub-plot involving a falling out between Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater is revealed when Mater inadvertently gives McQueen bad advice during a leg of the World Grand Prix and causes him the race. Fortunately, as the tired cliche would have it when best friends/lovers have a major falling out and never want to see each other again, it all works out in the end and the two end up closer than ever.

‘Monsters University’ Title Treatment, Synopsis Released; Will Be Released in 3D

'Monsters University' Title TreatmentWalt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have provided us with the official title treatment and what may be a preliminary synopsis to Monsters University, the prequel to Monsters, Inc.:

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

The film, which reunites voice talents Billy Crystal and John Goodman in the lead roles, is being directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae.
