Sneak Peek: ‘Toy Story 3’ Blu-ray/DVD Bonus Features

In anticipation of the November 2 release of Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 on Disney Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy, Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, DVD and 10-disc trilogy set editions, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released these two sneak peeks at just a couple of the many bonus features to be found along with the smash film.

The first is a clip from the accompanying short Day & Night. When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other’s unique qualities–and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world–the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.

First Look: Disney/Pixar’s ‘Brave’ New Title Treatment

'Brave' from Disney/PixarDisney’s Hollywood Studios cast member Paul Chadkin spotted and photographed the first known title artwork for Disney/Pixar’s Brave today in poster form at the park’s Animation Building. Note that the logo for the film (originally titled The Bear and the Bow) has been modified from the original photo for its presentation here and may or may not properly represent the true artwork.

Pixar animator Chris Chua noted that Princess Merida (Reese Witherspoon) and her mother, Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) are prominently represented in the logo here as well (pay special attention to the detail in the lettering).

'Toy Story 3' on Disney Blu-ray and DVDWe just happened to stumble upon some descriptions of some of the many bonus features one will find on the Disney/Pixar Toy Story 3 Blu-ray and DVD combo pack when it hits the shelves on November 2.

Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 Will Cross $1B Today; Disney to Become First Studio with Two $1B Films in Single Year

Two weeks after becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time, Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 will cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office today, joining Alice in Wonderland as the second $1 billion film this year from The Walt Disney Studios – the first studio in history to accomplish this feat. Disney first crossed the $1 billion threshold with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in 2006. Toy Story 3 becomes the only animated film to reach this milestone and the seventh title in industry history.

Disney Fears ‘Toy’ May Get Burned by ‘Dragon;’ Abandons Coveted Annies

The most successful animated film of all time, Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3, will not be recognized this year by one of the most highly prized awards in the animation industry — at least if Disney can help it.

The Walt Disney Company is withdrawing sponsorship and consideration from the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood and its 38th annual Annie Awards which is scheduled to take place on February 5, 2011 at UCLA Royce Hall in Los Angeles, CA. This represents the first time in the award’s near-forty year history that Disney will not be sponsoring the event in some capacity.
