Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have debuted the trailer for Monsters Inc 3D, which debuts in theaters nationwide on December 19, 2012 (the embedded version below comes from Walt Disney Studios UK which is why it features an alternate date).
The Academy Award®-winning animated comedy adventure Monsters, Inc. returns to the big screen—now in 3D—with lovable Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) as they struggle to help a little girl named Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs) find her way home from Monstropolis in the midst of a wild and mysterious cover-up.
Monsters, Inc. 3D will be followed by its prequel, Monsters University, which debuts theatrically on June 21, 2013.
Ahead of any official announcement, we have learned that Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will be releasing the hotly anticipated follow-up to Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 1, Volume 2, available to own on November 13, 2012 and now available for pre-order from Amazon.com.
Details are sparse at the moment, but shorts are expected to include La Luna, Dug’s Special Mission, Toy Story Toon: Hawaiian Vacation, Partly Cloudy, Presto and Day & Night.
The featurette features director Andrew Stanton alongside fellow Pixarians John Lasseter and Lee Unkrich as well as Director of 3D Production, Josh Hollander and 3D Supervisor Bob Whitehill. The gist of it is that although never originally imagined to be in 3D, the film’s environment lends itself naturally to the conversion and that the 3D is used to enhance the film, not detract from it. Finding Nemo will be available to own on 3D Blu-ray beginning December 4, 2012.
As the only available toy with limbs, Rex puts his tiny arms to good use by turning on the water and getting the party going for those dried-out toys on his own – which leads to a sort of bubble-filled rave, complete with glow-in-the-dark toys making disco lights under an overturned colander and dance music by Grammy-nominated electronica musician BT.
Featuring original music by composer Patrick Doyle, the album also features new songs by Julie Fowlis, Birdy and the cast of the film.

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
