In conjunction with Walt Disney Studios’ remake of Pete’s Dragon (August 12, 2016), Disney Editions will be releasing a 128-page volume dedicated to Elliott and all of the other famous — and infamous — dragons from Disney’s films and theme parks. Among the iconic dragons in the book are: Mushu from Mulan, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Madam Mim from The Sword in the Stone, the Jabberwocky from Alice in Wonderland, Queen Narissa from Enchanted, Hades’ hydra from Hercules, the Reluctant Dragon, Figment from Disney’s Epcot and more. Marvel recently filed a trademark application for ‘Guardians of Infinity,’ for purposes it describes as ‘comic books; printed periodicals in the field of comic book stories and artwork.’ A cursory Google search failed to show anything remotely close to that title save for a completely unrelated computer game from the 190s in which the objective was to save President Kennedy from assassination — obviously.
At BookCon earlier this year, New York Times best-selling author and author of Disney Descendants prequel, Isle of the Lost, Melissa de la Cruz, announced that there would be a sequel to the book, expected in May of 2016.
Today, additional details of the upcoming title have been released. Return to the Isle of the Lost is now slated for publication on May 10, 2016, presumably aligned for a sequel to the telefilm for summer 2016 as well. Like the original book, Disney is listing a pagecount of 320 pages for the upcoming sequel. The preliminary publisher’s description is as follows:
