Although no official announcement has yet to be made by Disney Publishing Worldwide, if previous plans are in tact, Stan Lee’s graphic novel, The Zodiac Chronicles (January 27, 2015, available for pre-order) should have a presence at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. In addition to the availability of advanced reader copies (ARCs) of the title at Disney Publishing’s booth #929, a free eBook prequel is also expected to launch just in time for the convention. The title may also be teased during Disney Publishing Worldwide’s panel on Sunday at 12:30 pm in room 8.
Admittedly as much as we try, it’s darn next to impossible — actually probably right on top of impossible — to keep up with every single detail of every single project under the Disney umbrella — though we try! That’s why it came as a bit of a shock to us when we saw this cover for an upcoming 176-page original novel titled ”Star Wars Rebels Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy’ based on the upcoming Disney XD series.
Disney Publishing Worldwide today announced it will be publishing a prequel to the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants, titled Isle of the Lost. It will be written by bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz, whose previous titles include The Witches of East End and Blue Bloods. It will be available in hardcover on May 5, 2015.
Legend has it that long ago, the most infamous villains were imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, cut off from the rest of the world as a punishment for their misdeeds. In this dark and dreary place, the likes of Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella de Vil and the Evil Queen reside and evil reigns supreme. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are their descendants, the teenaged sons and daughters of the Isle’s most villainous characters, and they are coming of age on the Isle of the Lost.
The insanely popular Kingdom Keepers series may have ended with volume VII, but it is far from over. Disney Publishing Worldwide has announced a new trilogy by Ridley Pearson to debut in March 2015 featuring the Kingdom Keepers characters as well as new characters. According to Disney, the beloved Kingdom Keepers head to an exclusive Imagineering school where they begin to discover that everything they’ve been through may have been all in preparation for a mission they could never have imagined.
The first of the trilogy is currently titled Disney Lands and is slated for a release on March 31, 2015. The publisher’s description is as follows:
I have long been a fan of the (junior) novelizations of the Disney family of films, so when I was offered the opportunity to read the novelization of Maleficent by Disney Publishing Worldwide, I jumped at the opportunity. What I expected was a novelization based on the film; what I did not expect were two novelizations: Maleficent and The Curse of Maleficent: The Tale of a Sleeping Beauty, both available April 29, 2014.

On October 7, 2014, Disney Editions will release Marc Davis: Walt Disney’s Renaissance Man, a 208 page hardcover volume that details the contributions of one of The Walt Disney Company’s most influential artists as written by some of the company’s most influential artists. The publisher’s description is as follows:
Walt Disney once said of Marc Davis, ‘Marc can do story, he can do character, he can animate, he can design shows for me. All I have to do is tell him what I want and it’s there! He’s my Renaissance man.’ As such, Davis touched nearly every aspect of The Walt Disney Company during his tenure. He began as an animator, whose supporting work on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Bambi inspired Walt to promote him to full animator.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the next — and perhaps strangest — entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s mostly unknown to those who don’t embed themselves into the Marvel comics universe. While Star-Lord, Groot and Rocket Raccoon and the rest of the motley crew will undoubtedly become household names after the movie releases on August 1, 2014, Marvel is gearing up to indoctrinate us with a series of original books and materials tied to the film.
The cover for the final entry in the popular Kingdom Keepers series of adventures by Ridley Pearson was revealed today by KingdomKeepersInsider.com, the book’s official website. The cover features the Evil Queen watching over as Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle becomes engulfed in flames.
Available to own April 1, 2014, and currently available for pre-order from Amazon in both hardcover and Kindle editions, Kingdom Keepers VII: The Insider, brings the exciting conclusion to the series which details the battles of good vs evil across the Disney theme parks and cruise line. The publisher’s description is as follows:
