LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., July 31, 2009 – For most guests, a trip to Walt Disney World Resort is synonymous with a vacation. But for two talented teens from Boston, their visit seemed more like biology lab than summer break.
Disney Channel will debut the second season of its hit music-filled Playhouse Disney series, “Imagination Movers,” SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 (10:00 a.m., ET/PT). New episodes of the series, starring New Orleans’ favorite alternative rock band for preschoolers, will air every Saturday throughout September. The season will include more than 25 new original songs by the band.
Stars of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie,’ Selena Gomez, David Henrie and Jake Austin will be appearing on The View on Wednesday, August 5. Also appearing on the show will be actor James Brolin and a musical performance from the Broadway cast of ‘Hair.’
Production has begun in Hollywood on “I’m In The Band,” a music-filled, live-action comedy series for kids and families about a teenager who realizes his wildest dream when he joins his favorite “vintage” rock band, Iron Weasel, and sets out to help the band he idolizes make an epic comeback. The series, formerly known as “Viper Slap,” is scheduled to premiere in 2010 on Disney XD.

He’s certainly got his work cut out for him with the trio of rock star misfits whose stars have fallen so far that they can’t even afford their own housing and are forced to share bunk beds in a guest room at Tripp’s house. Nonetheless, in their own off the wall way, the three stooges will do their best to help Tripp steer through his teenage years with the goal of turning him into a bona fide rock star and giving him the chance to live out his dream.
Regis and “Millionaire” are back in ABC primetime! Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the smash hit “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” comes back to ABC this summer for a special two-week event. “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” premieres SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) and will air for 11 nights, Sunday-Thursday at 8:00 p.m., with the finale on SUNDAY, AUGUST 23 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).
ABC’s 10th Anniversary edition of “Millionaire” will celebrate everything that viewers loved about the original, combined with the major improvements to the gameplay after seven successful years in syndication. In addition, as a brand new feature of the return of primetime “Millionaire,” every episode will culminate with a celebrity playing one question for $50,000 to benefit their charity of choice. The lineup of celebrity players will be announced at a later date.
From Daytime “Millionaire’s” Emmy nominations on the eve of its eighth season launch to the Oscar-winning phenomenon “Slumdog Millionaire,” it has been a banner year for the “Millionaire” pop culture juggernaut. To date, there have been 1,285 episodes of the syndicated version, and before it went off the air in 2002, the primetime edition saw 363 episodes, including “Super Millionaire” in 2004. Over $132 million has been won by contestants over the decade ($79 million in primetime; $53 million in syndication). In primetime, celebrity players won $13.5 million for their favorite charities.
San Diego, CA, July 26, 2009… Television’s #1 animated series for kids, Disney’s “Phineas and Ferb,” will be presenting two programming events this fall, a two-part time travel episode and a viewers’ choice countdown special featuring the Top 10 favorite musical numbers from the hit series. The announcement was made today at Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. Each “Phineas and Ferb” episode will premiere on Disney XD. The series also airs on Disney Channel.
ABC.com and Kia Motors America (KMA) unveil the first webisode in a five-part short-form series titled “Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative.” Exclusively sponsored by Kia Motors, “Mysteries of the Universe” is a fictional “documentary” series set in the early 1980s which takes an in-depth look into a variety of unsolved mysteries.
Once thought to be Lost, this all-new explosive documentary project provides a full-scale investigation into the so-called “Dharma Initiative.” Through interviews, research, eyewitness accounts and more, the short-form series attempts to uncover the truth behind this shadowy organization, including the possible existence of a secret society with links to covert locations around the globe, including a South Pacific island, which is the subject of intense speculation, but whose whereabouts have never been confirmed.
In Monday’s all-new episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man, Venom helps unmask the secret identity of Spidey, placing the web-slinger’s friends and families at risk. Kelly Hu returns as the voice of Sha Shan Nguyen.

Disney Channel will premiere the music video for Selena Gomez’s cover of the 1975 classic, “Magic,” on FRIDAY, JULY 24 (8:59 p.m. ET/PT). Radio Disney will premiere the song, which is featured on the soon to be released “Wizards of Waverly Place” soundtrack, earlier that day (3:00 p.m. PT/ 6:00p.m. ET).
The music video was directed by Roman Perez (Jonas Brothers’ “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and Emily Osment’s “Hero in Me” music videos) and features scenes from the upcoming “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” which premieres Friday, August 28 on Disney Channel.

Productions, the producers of “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” Hosts are Orlando Jones (“Drumline,” “Biker Boyz”) and Dan Cortese (“The Superstars” “Surviving Suburbia”).
