Reflective of the network’s commitment to using digital platforms to deepen its relationship with viewers, the ABC Music Lounge showcases everything about the music and artists featured on ABC’s popular primetime schedule, offering a deep catalog of music-related content.
“Zeke and Luther,” a quirky buddy comedy from Matt Dearborn and Tom Burkhard, the creative team behind the Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning Disney Channel series “Even Stevens,” will debut on television and online, MONDAY, JUNE 15 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com. Set against a sport that is a mainstay with boys age 6-14, the series delivers sharp yet heartfelt humor as it follows the adventures of two teenage best friends on a quest to become world famous skateboarders. It also introduces a talented young cast – Hutch Dano, Adam Hicks, Daniel Curtis Lee and Ryan Newman.
In “Zeke and Luther,” two fearless sidewalk surfers and best friends gear up and put their right foot forward to master the awesome art form of skateboarding (which is also their principle method of transportation). Along the way, they navigate the literal and figurative luge of teen years with all of its tricks, grinds, obstacles and occasional slams. Quick to challenge the boys’ claim to being the best skateboarders in the neighborhood is friend and foe Kojo, also 15. Kojo’s got a big attitude and a big mouth, and takes great pleasure in taking Zeke and Luther down a peg whenever he can. Another thorn in their side is Ginger, Zeke’s 12-year-old sister who finds her brother’s skateboarding dreams childish, to say the least.
ABC News announced today the launch of its branded channel on YouTube, youtube.com/ABCNEWS, featuring short form news content. The channel will include breaking news as it happens, highlights from newsmaker interviews, as well as ABC News programming from morning to night — including “Good Morning America,” “World News with Charles Gibson,” “Nightline,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” “20/20″ and “Primetime” limited series.
“We look forward to expanding our online audience for ABC News reporting on our new YouTube channel,” said David Westin, president, ABC News. “ABC News audiences will now be able to watch us on one of the top video portals on the Internet.”
On Thursday, May 7, JoBros fans will be able to hear the world premiere of ‘Paranoid,’ the first single off their upcoming album ‘Lines, Vines & Trying Times’ (to be released June 15). Tune into Radio Disney at 4 pm EST to check it out.
About a week before their world tour kicks off, the band will also be appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America in New York City as part of its summer concert series. The JoBros will be performing for the show on June 12. Fans interested in attending the performance are asked to arrive at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield via the 69th street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6:00 a.m., when the park opens to the public.
Disney XD has renewed its flagship series “Aaron Stone” for a second season and has ordered a new original sitcom, “Viper Slap” (working title), about a teenage boy who is living his dream as the new lead guitarist of his favorite rock band and is determined to help his new misfit band mates make an epic comeback.
LOS ANGELES — Hulu and The Walt Disney Company today announced that Disney, through a subsidiary of ABC Enterprises Inc., has agreed to join NBC Universal, News Corporation and Providence Equity Partners as a joint venture partner and equity owner of Hulu, a leading online aggregator of video content. Upon closing, the agreement will enhance Hulu’s programming line-up through the expanded online distribution of Disney’s most popular current and library primetime series and library feature films. In particular, full-length episodes of hit current and library programs like Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Ugly Betty, Scrubs, Greek, Hope and Faith, Less Than Perfect, Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, General Hospital, The View and The Secret Life of the American Teenager will soon be streamed on Hulu on an ad-supported basis.
Radio Disney will present the world premiere of a new song from Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” on SATURDAY, MAY 2 (6:00 p.m., ET/3:00 p.m., PT) during its Planet Premiere feature. “I Wanna Know You,” a duet by Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana and American Idol’s David Archuleta, will be featured in a new episode of the hit series on Sunday, May 3 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
All next week, Live with Regis and Kelly will feature a Broadway musical each day. First up will be the cast of Mary Poppins which promises to have Kelly Ripa donning the nanny’s wardrobe and learning how to fly.
Two of the most popular young actresses, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, star in the adventure comedy “Princess Protection Program,” a Disney Channel Original Movie about two very different girls – a princess from a small kingdom and a small town girl who, when fate brings them together, must team up to help the would-be queen pass for a regular teen. Filmed in Puerto Rico, “Princess Protection Program” premieres FRIDAY, JUNE 26 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel and Family Channel Canada. The “Royal B.F.F. Extended Edition” will be available Tuesday, June 30 on Disney DVD and will feature an exclusive new music video of “One and the Same” performed by Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, a behind-the-scenes look at the film with the teen stars, and a free “B.F.F” necklace set.
