High-wattage star power and notable creative teams from Disney’s favorite series for kids and families are the centerpiece of Disney Channel and Disney XD’s fan meetings at the leading pop culture convention, Comic-Con International 2012, Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 in San Diego.
Although it should be no surprise that Disney XD’s popular series ‘Phineas and Ferb’ will be returning to San Diego Comic-Con in 2012 as it has had a presence ever since before the show began, Variety is also reporting that new-comer ‘TRON: Uprising’ will have a featured panel along with a preview of ‘Wander Over Yonder’ from the prolific and successful husband-wife team of Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust.
According to the article, the ‘TRON: Uprising’ panel will consist of lead vocal talent Elijah Wood and co-star Bruce Boxleitner as well as executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.
Kids and tweens will once again have the opportunity to shake it up and break it down with the return of Disney Channel’s popular dance competition “Make Your Mark: Shake It Up Dance Off.” Last year, more than 12 million viewers watched the two-night finale event, skyrocketing it to #1 among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for both nights. This year, kids once again will have the opportunity to compete for the Grand Prize – a performance in an episode of Disney Channel’s top-rated series “Shake It Up.”
Hosted by Chris Harrison (“The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette”), “Bachelor Pad” returns MONDAY, July 23 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) with its most controversial cast to date, as 15 unforgettable characters from the “Bachelor” franchise – those we love and those we love to hate — gather back at the mansion to live together to possibly find a second chance at love and compete for $250,000. Last season, Michael Stagliano won the money but lost at love – this season he moves into the mansion and will put everything on the line, even his winnings from last season, to find love. Also, fresh off the wrath of Emily on this week’s episode of “The Bachelorette,” Villain Kalon McMahon decides to lick his wounds and move into “Bachelor Pad.” Other residents will include “Bachelorette 5″ fan favorites Ed Swiderski, winner, and contestant Reid Rosenthal, who proposed to Jillian Harris.
The medieval town of Dubrovnik supplies the beauty, and Emily and the remaining eight men provide the fireworks as the romantic world tour continues. The bachelors are hoping that Emily finally will see through Ryan’s bold faade when they go on a one-on-one date. Arie decides to break the rules and risks sneaking out of the guys’ suite to see Emily, but what kind of reception will he get? A group date starts with a special sneak peek screening of the new Disney/Pixar film Brave, but the guys find out that they need to compete for Emily’s attention by dressing in kilts and performing in their own version of the Highland Games, just like in the movie. Finally at the rose ceremony, Emily continues to make bold moves to ensure her future happiness and also makes Bachelorette history, on “The Bachelorette,” Monday, June 1 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.
Warner Brothers Home Video has announced that it will make the complete first season of the ABC comedy ‘Suburgatory’ available to own on DVD beginning September 18, 2012, in time for the premiere of the series’ second season.
Disney Junior is celebrating summer with fun, interactive events themed around the hit series “Jake and the Never Land Pirates;” May 2012’s #1 cable TV series among kids 2-5 and #1 cable preschool series in women 18-49. The “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Summer Adventures” family events will be hosted by Radio Disney at over 25 Simon Malls across 10 markets beginning SATURDAY, JUNE 23 – SUNDAY, JULY 1.
Select Comcast subscribers are now (or soon) able to watch the Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior networks broadcast live online. The channels will eventually be offered to all Comcast Xfinity customers who subscribe to them at no additional charge, but for now it appears to be in private testing.
The channels will eventually be accessible via WATCHDISNEYCHANNEL.COM, WATCHDISNEYXD.COM and WATCHDISNEYJUNIOR.COM respectively, along with apps for Apple iPhone and iPad devices as well as Android devices. In addition to watching the channels live, eligible viewers will also have the opportunity to watch select shows and movies before they air.

If word of the new show is a surprise to you, you’re in great company. It turns out it was a surprise to even many of the most diehard fans.
Explosive drama underlines the group’s trip to historic London. From Buckingham Palace to the Tower of London, Emily and Sean share the romance of the city. Shakespearian theatre will never be the same once eight men on a group date invade the Bard’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, to perform classic scenes from “Romeo and Juliet.” However, the after party turns from going to a pub for a brew to a brawl when Emily discovers that one of the men has made a disrespectful comment about her daughter, Ricki. Not only does Emily confront the offender, but she finds none of the other men support her and ends up making some stunning decisions. Jef and Emily have a proper English tea, but decide to ditch their stern etiquette teacher and escape to a local pub. Trying to put the drama about her daughter aside, she takes Jef to one of the most romantic spots in the city – the London Eye, a gigantic Ferris wheel on the banks of the Thames River. But Emily makes it her personal mission at the cocktail party to find out which guys knew about the offensive comment and why they didn’t warn her earlier about the insulting bachelor. Do any of these men have her back? She needs to find out and fast, as the group travels to Croatia next, on “The Bachelorette,” Monday, June 11 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.
