We first broke the news that Disney Channel was working on a new musical series titled ‘Zombies and Cheerleaders‘ back in June of 2011, nearly four and a half years ago. While the series was expected to debut in 2012, the series was virtually dead air.
Disney’s Emmy Award-winning animated series ‘Gravity Falls’ reaches its final showdown in the highly anticipated one-hour finale episode on Monday, February 15 at 7:00 pm ET/PT on Disney XD. In the episode titled ‘Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls,’ Ford discovers Bill’s true motives and then a final confrontation with Bill leads to the Pines family’s ultimate fate and greatest sacrifice. Starring Jason Ritter as Dipper and Kristen Schaal as Mabel, the animated adventure-comedy series was created and is executive-produced by Alex Hirsch. The series will continue to be presented daily on Disney XD and Disney Channels around the world.

It’s a family reunion as rock-and-roll legendary couple Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne will join daughter Kelly on an upcoming episode of ‘The 7D,’ Disney Television Animation’s irreverent take on The Seven Dwarfs, it was announced earlier today. Sharon, who is already known to Disney Junior fans as Captain Hook’s Mama (of ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’) and her hubby will voice the Duchess and Duke of Drear, the on-screen parents of Kelly’s character, Hildy Gloom. The new season begins January 23 at 9:30 am ET/PT on Disney XD.
ABC has released the opening musical sequence from the first episode of the second season of the musical comedy, ‘Galavant,’ which you can find embedded below. The new season premieres January 3, 2016 with back-to-back episodes. The ten-episode series will run each Sunday night for five-consecutive weeks.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that the television event, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, will be available to own on DVD with digital copy on February 23, 2016 (now available for pre-order). The DVD will also include an exclusive talking backpack clip and a bonus feature of the music video of Beau Black performing the series’ theme, ‘Here comes the Lion Guard.’
The animated series “The Lion Guard” will premiere FRIDAY, JANUARY 15 (9:30 a.m., EST/PST) on Disney Channel and encore throughout the weekend on Disney Junior and Disney Channel. Its story – introduced last month in a Disney Channel movie which posted commanding ratings among Kids 2-5 and Total Viewers – continues the “The Lion King” epic. It follows the adventures of Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, and his diverse group of friends, each with a unique skill, as they unite to protect the Pride Lands.
As part of the network’s reality expansion, ABC Family has greenlit ‘The Letter’ to series. It was announced today by Karey Burke, executive vice president, Programming & Development. The series begins production in 2016 and comes from Sirens Media. ABC Family is becoming Freeform in January 2016.
Now in its 32nd year, the unforgettable Christmas special welcomes back Robin Roberts of ABC’s “Good Morning America” (GMA) as lead host. Reporting from the Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Fla., Roberts is accompanied by Jesse Palmer, who joins the event for the first time as a correspondent. New to the GMA team as a special contributor, Palmer shares key parade updates in the midst of the action on Main Street, U.S.A. Janel Parrish, star of the ABC Family hit show “Pretty Little Liars” – which will debut under the new network name, Freeform for its winter premiere on January 12, 2016 – serves as music correspondent alongside Stitch from the Cinderella Castle.
‘Richard M. Sherman: Songs of a Lifetime,’ a showcase of the accomplished composer/lyricist, highlighting 60 years of popular songs, including those written with his late brother, Robert B. Sherman, will make its television debut on PBS SoCal, Thursday, December 17 at 7:00 pm PST. It is expected to run in other major markets as well, though dates have yet to be announced. The tribute is a one-hour studio performance with Sherman at the piano telling tales behind the music, singing songs and performing with friends: Broadway star Ashley Brown, acclaimed stage performers Juliana Hansen and Wesley Alfvin and The Barbershop Quartet (Jim Campbell, Jon Schoenherz, Drew Tablak and Wesley Alfvin ).
