ABC News is providing viewers with comprehensive coverage of Hurricane Irene as the storm makes its way toward the U.S. mainland – delivering the information people need to prepare appropriately and to make well informed decisions heading into the weekend.
The Weinstein Company announced earlier today that ABC has refused to air the commercial for Our Idiot Brother, which stars Paul Rudd. Noting other networks have aired the same ad, at contention for the ABC network are drug-related references and simulated urination using a juice box.
In response to the ban by ABC, a profanity-laden extended clip was released on the internet via AOL’s Moviefone which has appeared to removed it (but now available elsewhere).
The film company is owned by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, who created Miramax prior to its purchase (and subsequent sale) by The Walt Disney Company, also the parent company of ABC.
ABC is bringing an in-flight experience without having to leave the ground to New York’s Fashion Week attendees, September 8 -14. “Pan Am”-inspired stewardesses will be stationed at coffee carts offering up coffee and tea each morning to local New Yorkers and attendees of some of the biggest fashion shows in New York City.
In addition to providing beverages, stewardesses will also be handing out the must-have bags of the season – the highly coveted “Pan Am” Explorer bag, as well as “Pan Am” track bags — that people have been buzzing about since their debut at San Diego’s Comic-Con.
The constant screams in the D23 Expo Arena stemming from hundreds of fans was the only Expo schedule you needed to know that they would soon be entertained by the stars of one of the most successful tv series in Disney Channel history, ‘Shake It Up.’

The contest, which runs from August 16 – September 6, invites Disney Fairies Fans to draw and share how they will train for the Pixie Hollow Games, with the grand prize winner receiving the ultimate viewing party kit.

Production is underway on “Pixie Hollow Games,” an all-new, animated special to premiere this fall on Disney Channel. The special, which is part of the hugely successful Disney Fairies franchise, features a talented voice cast of Disney Channel stars including Brenda Song (“The Suite Life on Deck”), Jason Dolley (“Good Luck Charlie”), Tiffany Thornton (“So Random!”) and Zendaya (“Shake It Up”) as the new fairies and sparrow man who join Tinker Bell and her fairy friends to participate in the legendary Pixie Hollow Games. Megan Hilty (NBC’s upcoming musical series “Smash”) also stars as Rosetta.

Millions can play along at home as America’s most talented karaoke singers take the stage Friday, August 12 on “Karaoke Battle USA.” “Karaoke Battle USA’s” panel of all-star judges and show producers will select finalists from the best video submissions from aspiring amateur karaoke stars. Then viewers will pick a winning At-Home King and Queen online. Contestants should visit www.karaokebattleusa.com or the “Karaoke Battle USA” Facebook page and follow the directions to enter, starting at 9:00 a.m., ET on August 12. A karaoke version of either “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” or “Unchained Melody” will be available upon registration, and eligible contestants can upload a video of their solo performance using Facebook or YouTube.
In anticipation of the ‘Once Upon A Time’ pilot screening and Q&A with show creators and executive producers, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, at Disney D23 Expo on Saturday, August 20 at 12:45 pm, ABC has provided us with newly updated character posters from the series. The most obvious difference between these posters and those previously released at San Diego Comic Con is the updated logo for the show.
