Today saw the first day of the return of Pan Am to the Big Apple in twenty years as ABC brought its upcoming drama of the same name to the streets of Manhattan to promote the show during New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Lady Gaga will perform live in front of a crowd of an estimated one million people in Times Square just before the ball drops on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012,” Saturday, December 31 on the ABC Television Network. To mark the 40th anniversary of the cherished New Year’s Eve celebration, the festivities will begin at 8:00 p.m., ET with a new two-hour special entitled “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve: The 40th Anniversary Party.” Lady Gaga is a true phenomenon; her third studio album, “Born This Way,” was released on May 23, 2011 and broke the iTunes record for the fastest rise to No. 1 on release day. The album hit No. 1 in 22 of 23 iTunes stores worldwide. The first single from the album, title track “Born This Way,” set a music industry record by becoming the fastest single in history to reach sales of 1,000,000 copies (five days after its February 11 release).
For the first time ever, on Thursday, September 8, ABC News’ “Good Morning America” will air its popular “Your Three Words” franchise LIVE from a dozen locations throughout the United States and abroad, all while One Republic plays their hit song “Good Life” LIVE from the show’s brand new Times Square Studio. From Boston’s Fenway Park to The Statue of Liberty, from a base in Afghanistan to Chicago’s Millennium Park, from to a fish market in Seattle to a beach in Connecticut, the unprecedented live event will feature “GMA” viewers at each location showcasing their own inspiring messages. Goran Visnjic (“ER”) will check into ABC’s highly anticipated new drama series, “Pan Am,” for a four-episode arc. The first of his four episodes begins filming September 7 and will air later this fall. “Pan Am” premieres Sunday, September 25 at 10:01 pm ET on the ABC Television Network.
Visnjic will play a Yugoslavian diplomat torn politically between his communist background and the freedom and opportunities he’s afforded in the west. He’ll face a wrenching emotional dilemma when he finds himself attracted to Kate and their romance ends up being more complicated than either ever imagined.
This morning, “LIVE! with Regis and Kelly” co-host Regis Philbin announced that his last day on the program will be Friday, November 18, 2011.
Philbin made the announcement live on the air during today’s “Host Chat” segment. Philbin and co-host Kelly Ripa kicked off the home stretch of their partnership this week, the final months before Philbin leaves the top morning show. LIVE is marking the departure of the Emmy-winning host with the “Regis Farewell Celebration Season,” a heartfelt, not-to-be-missed commemoration of Philbin’s years on LIVE.
Millions of viewers shared the heartbreak of Ben Flajnik (pronounced Flannick) when his soulful and heartfelt proposal was rejected by Ashley Hebert in the emotional finale of last season’s “The Bachelorette.” Now Ben is ready to put all the disappointment and hurt behind him in order to move on with his life, his phenomenal success as a businessman and his search for the right woman to be his wife and to start a family with, as he stars in the next edition of ABC’s hit romance reality series, “The Bachelor,” when it returns to ABC in January 2012.
ESPN will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks with a combination of features, essays, tributes and live event coverage throughout the day.

To give viewers an up close and personal look at the stylish and timeless fashions worn by stewardesses in the 1960s, ABC’s “Pan Am” will showcase items from the iconic ladies’ uniform, ranging from head to toe. Beginning September 2, bus shelters in the West Hollywood area in Los Angeles and in front of Grand Central in New York City — among other locations – will be transformed into eye catching museum-displays exhibiting the custom-tailored jacket that gave the stewardesses a streamlined, sexy look, the perfectly-fitted white gloves that left no room for a wedding ring, the black leather, low-heeled pumps that provided comfort without compromising style, and the “Pan Am” blue leather flight bag, which was the perfect bag to carry belongings for a night out on any town they might have just flown into. Topping off this iconic uniform is the always-in-place classic hat. The displays will promote ABC’s “Pan Am,” one of the highly anticipated new dramas of the fall season.
On Tuesday, September 6, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will pay tribute to Uncle Frank Potenza. This show will celebrate many moments from Uncle Frank’s nine-year tenure as a security guard and on-air contributor for his nephew’s late-night show. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will pay homage to Uncle Frank by highlighting his comedy pieces, notable interviews with everyone from Tom Cruise to Kermit the Frog, plus a visit from comedian and friend Don Rickles, who will reminisce with Jimmy about this kind and irreplaceable man who was indeed an Uncle to all who knew him.
City dwellers trekking to the Hamptons this Labor Day Weekend will be able to soak up more than just some sun. From September 1-3, ABC’s “Revenge” descends upon the streets of New York, offering passengers waiting to board Hampton Jitney buses a printed script of the first episode. This thrilling beach read will be coupled with a “Revenge” beach towel to complement the perfect Hampton getaway. “Revenge” premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 10:00 pm ET on the ABC Television Network.
