Nominations for the 42nd Annual Annie Awards were announced earlier today, honoring the best animation in film, television, video games and beyond for the previous year. The Walt Disney Company made a strong showing, as one might expect, with Big Hero 6 and ‘Disney’s Mickey Mouse’ cartoons, but Craig McCracken’s ‘Wonder Over Yonder’ on Disney XD is also respectable in its showing, while new series ‘Star Wars Rebels’ struggled to make an impact with just one nomination, as did ‘Sofia the First’ which failed to show at all.
Set in outer space, the series charts the missions of the Callisto family – 7-year-old Miles, big sister Loretta and their scientist parents Phoebe and Leo, who work for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Each episode features two 11-minute adventure-filled stories as Miles and his family explore strange new worlds, taking young viewers and their families on a journey that fuels kids’ natural interest in the universe, and at the same time reminding them that what matters most is what lies closer to home – the family bond.

If you have your DVR set to record the ‘Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade,’ you may want to take a few minutes to reprogram it. ABC has confirmed what has already been reported at both the Walt Disney World Resort via it’s Very Merry Christmas Party map and the Disneyland Resort — which is filming its half today — that the annual holiday program will in fact be dubbed the ‘Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration.’ The official program description is as follows:
ABC announces premiere dates for two of its highly anticipated new midseason shows – “Galavant,” a comedy extravaganza and “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” the second action packed series from the creative minds at Marvel, inspired by the feature films “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.” “Galavant” will premiere on SUNDAY, JANUARY 4 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) and will run two episodes in the one-hour block each week, and “Marvel’s Agent Carter” premieres on TUESDAY, JANUARY 6 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET).
Featuring music by Kevin Kiner from all six seasons of the animated series, ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars,’ the official soundtrack will make its official digital debut on November 10, 2014 (or at least it’s expected as much, as per the new listing on Amazon). In addition, a special vinyl edition of the soundtrack from the first season is slated for a December 9, 2014 release. Although no official details have been released as of yet, we have reason to believe there will be a downloadable component to the soundtrack for those that do purchase the vinyl edition.

Audiences familiar with the compelling ups and downs of the negotiations will be further engaged in the drama that takes place after the entrepreneurs’ appearance on “Shark Tank.” What lies in the aftermath of their investment? Did a promising deal turn sour or launch a million dollar profit margin? After closer inspection of the business, did the Sharks or the entrepreneur back out of the deal?
