The Disney Parks official blog has posted concept art and a brief description of the goings-on at the ‘ElecTRONica’ nighttime entertainment spectacle at Disney California adventure as first revealed here on Stitch Kingdom.
Set to take place Friday – Sunday nights beginning October 8, the spectacular transforms the Hollywood Backlot area to TRON city (with a touch of the parallel real world). The event will also take place nightly during Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks.

On Sunday, September 19, Annual Passholders at the Disneyland Resort and their guests will have the opportunity to be among the first to hear about Duffy, his origins and his journey from Tokyo DisneySea to Disney California Adventure as well as the magical date that he will become available to meet and greet guests at the Disneyland Resort this fall.
There will be two sessions available, approximately 45 minutes long, with one at 11:30 am PT and one at 2 pm PT. The presentations will be held at Stage 17 at Disney California Adventure. Any type of recording device is explicitly prohibited from entering the venue. Cellphones will be allowed but they must be turned off and stored away.
A record field of more than 14,000 registered participants will take to the streets of Disneyland Resort and the city of Anaheim for the fifth anniversary of “The Happiest Race on Earth” – the Disneyland Half Marathon. In addition to the 13.1-mile half marathon, the weekend features activities for the entire family, including a Health & Fitness Expo, Disneyland Fabulous 5K presented by the Los Angeles Times, and Kids’ Races.
KTLA is reporting that a male guest fell from the Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort last night. According to the article, the incident was reported at approximately 10:30 PM PT and the man was immediately transported to the UCI Medical Center but little else is known at this time including his condition or how (and from where) he fell.
UPDATE: According to KABC-TV, the victim is a 19 year old male who was intoxicated at the time he fell approximately 20-25 feet from a railing in the queue he had climbed over. Allegedly, the victim preceded the non-simulated drop with the line ‘wouldn’t it be funny if I fell?’ Answer: apparently not.
Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka were spotted earlier today at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The couple were celebrating recently found-out news that they will be expecting twins through a surrogate mother.

Disney Parks has posted notices for auditions for a couple of new upcoming productions at the domestic Disney theme parks in the wake of the recent announcement of the Disney Channel Rocks! show.
At Disney California Adventure, the Disneyland Resort is preparing a new nighttime celebration in honor of TRON Legacy from Walt Disney Studios. For the show (reported working title of ElecTRONica), male and female contemporary and hip-hop dancers are being seeked out to perform on stages outside in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot and main entrance areas. Experience with martial arts is considered a plus.

Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival will celebrate its sixth anniversary in 2011 with six weeks of culinary experiences for guests of all ages, April 29-June 12 at Disney California Adventure park and select locations across the Disneyland Resort.
Chefs, winemakers and guest speakers will focus on cultures, tastes and traditions with hundreds of tantalizing demonstrations, along with outstanding wine and spirits seminars. Guests will also feast on delicious food, wine and beer available throughout Disney California Adventure park.
Viewers around the world will join a one-of-a-kind, online phenomenon in July to experience the extraordinary magic of “World of Color,” the new after-dark spectacular presented nightly in Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim. In each city, specially produced animation will be projected onto a familiar city landmark, using a sensational mixture of special effects, high-tech projections and one of the storytelling themes presented in “World of Color.”
