Mickey Mouse celebrates the holidays with a cartoon-style Christmas tree this season as new decor adds merriment to Mickey’s Toontown for the 2011 holidays at Disneyland Resort. The holidays shine brightly throughout the resort from Nov. 14, 2011, through Jan. 8, 2012, as guests create memories for a lifetime.

The Disney Gallery located at the base of Main Street, USA at the Disneyland Resort will be playing host to a brand new exhibit celebrating Walt Disney’s legacy, titled ‘All Aboard: A Grand Circle Tour of the Trains of Disney.’ Set to open on November 12, 2011, the exhibit will replace the current one displaying the art of Disney Legend Mary Blair.
Around this time each year, veterinary care specialists conduct annual wellness checks on a roost of endangered bats as part of Disney’s commitment to excellent animal care.
The bats, known as Malayan flying foxes, receive complete physical examinations, including blood analysis, vaccination and dental cleaning in front of thousands of Guests who view the procedures from a large, on-stage window into a state-of-the art veterinary hospital. With a wingspan close to six feet, the Malayan flying fox is one of the largest bats in the world and can be seen on exhibit along the Maharajah Jungle Trek in the Asia section of the theme park.
Known to be closing permanently in order to make way for the Princess Fairytale Hall where guests will be able to meet and greet with their favorite Disney princesses, we now have a potential timeline for the closure of Snow White’s Scary Adventures. According to the following tweet from Crushinat0r, notice has been posted for Fantasyland Operations that the attraction will be closing permanently in February (exact date unknown). If this turns out to be the case, it’s more likely to be towards the end of the month, after the relocated Dumbo re-opens at its new location, though the two attractions are polar opposites when it comes to ridership.
According to the Disney Insider Blog, the Noah Fine Art Collective will release a new collection of Muppets-inspired artwork, clothing, skate decks and Disney Vinylmation on November 18, 2011 at D-Street located in the Downtown Disney District of the Disneyland Resort.
Noah collaborated with fellow artists Jon Chase and Dez Einswell on the collection which Noah says, ‘allowed each of us to celebrate our favorite characters, and showcase them in non-traditional formats, all while staying true to the personalities of each character and each artist.’
Disneyland Resort today hosted a swearing-in ceremony for 11 new Air Force Reserve recruits from March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley, California. The event was held at Condor Flats inside Disney California Adventure park, an area dedicated to the rich history of California aviation. The new recruits experienced Soarin’ Over California following their military oath, an attraction taking them on a breathtaking aerial tour over some of California’s most extraordinary landmarks.

Not much information is provided in the casting call for the newly announced group, but Disney California Adventure has begun casting for a ‘talented trio from the Midwest who epitomize the innocent, optimistic “can-do” America of the 1920s’ called ‘The Friendly Sisters.’
With daily performances slated to begin in May, 2012, the trio will no doubt perform in the Carthay Circle area of the park which is currently under development and will help represent Walt Disney’s Hollywood.
In size and scope, the construction of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a major project at Walt Disney World Resort and has created up to 800 construction jobs. Once open in 2012, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will also create 750 ongoing resort hotel jobs.
