UPDATE: WDW Celebrities for Disney Parks Christmas Parade Announced?

It appears that the oft-well-kept secret of who will be performing for the taped annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade has been released and the news isn’t good for fans of the Jonas Brothers who were the frontrunners in the rumor mill.

Even the Disneyland portion, which tapes first (and already has, earlier this month), seemed to be a big surprise as reporters scrambled to try to get a hint as to who might show.

As Anticipated, Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain Queue Has a Lot of Game

Walt Disney Imagineers put the final touches on interactive games found in the new Space Mountain queue. Photo courtesy of Disney. On its official blog, Disney Parks provides a glimpse of a new feature found in the recently renovated Space Mountain (expected to begin soft openings this week, with a relaunch date of November 22). As we reported along with the assistance of the Orlando Sentinel’s Jason Garcia back in June, the team that did development on Soarin’s interactive queue brought a taste of their magic to the Space Mountain queue. The blog mentions that the long queue (the show building is quite a walk from the entrance) will have multiple games featured with each game’s objective  being fundamental to the attraction’s storyline. Each 90 second game will also be able to accomodate dozens of players at the same time.

Leading the (arguably) best ‘regular’ parade Walt Disney World has to offer, the SpectroMen and SpectroTrumpeters have haunted the memories of young children and many adults for years in the night-time extravaganza SpectroMagic. It wasn’t too long ago that they got their last makeover in late 2007, shedding the masks in favor of faces and fibery-opticky multi-colored hair.

Now the SpectroMen are set to shock the World once more as they don new costumes and lighting effects as they lead SpectroMagic throughout the Magic Kingdom. Pictured below are photos we acquired of the new costumes (SpectroMen on left, SpectroTrumpeter on right):
