Recognizing the expanding role of sports within the entertainment industry, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Full Sail University have finalized a unique partnership that enables the school to promote Full Sail’s sports curriculum to a global audience of sports enthusiasts, while offering youth athletes more possibilities to envision their sports dreams.
Guests visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon for thrills like the Crush ‘n’ Gusher water coaster and Gang Plank Falls. This June, they’ll hit the water park’s wave pool to help break a world record and spread an important message about teaching children to swim.
‘We were honored Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will once again serve as the official headquarters location for a second record-breaking World’s Largest Swimming Lesson,’ said Jean Gallagher, director of water parks for Walt Disney World Resort. ‘At Walt Disney Parks and Resorts we have a strong commitment to water safety and the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is a reminder to guests of all ages that when they step in the water we want them to have fun and be safety smart at the same time.’
Scheduled to open beginning April 1, we have your first look inside the room for the FASTPASS-enabled Magician Mickey Mouse meet and greet at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Tucked away inside Exposition Hall, Magician Mickey invites fans to meet him ‘backstage’ where he’ll have a few tricks of his own including interactive posters, more than likely in the same vein as the enchanted art found aboard the Disney Dream.
The Walt Disney Company today released its second Corporate Citizenship report detailing Disney’s progress on environmental and social impacts. The report also includes the Company’s first set of comprehensive citizenship commitments and goals, aligned around three core principles:
- Act and create in an ethical manner and consider the consequences of our decisions
- Champion the happiness and well-being of kids, parents and families in our endeavors
- Inspire kids, parents, employees, and communities to make a lasting, positive change in the world

Last night, attendees of the second annual Disney Social Media Moms Conference were treated to a fantastic experience in way of a dinner/dance party presented by Disney Junior on the set of ‘Lights, Motor, Action’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We’ll have more on the event and its many surprises soon, but for now we thought we’d share these photos of Jake from ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates’ who made his onstage debut at the event. After spending some time on the dance floor, jamming to a live performance of ‘Roll Up The Map’ by Sharky and Bones, Jake treated us to an exclusive photo shoot.
Alfred Angelo designer Michael Shettel joins model in proudly unveiling The Cinderella Platinum wedding gown during Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons platinum celebration on March 17, 2011, at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. A select group of wedding and mommy bloggers were among the first to see the glamorous gown that celebrates the fairytale that inspired it — “Cinderella.” It is the first addition to the celebrated collection of Disney princess-inspired wedding gowns that launched early this year with Disney Consumer Products and Alfred Angelo. The gown will be available in select Alfred Angelo signature stores in late September 2011.
Via his Wild Ride blog, Kingdom Keepers author Ridley Pearson has provided details on the tour schedule for the Kingdom Keepers IV: Power Play book tour, which will kick off on April 4, 2011 at Walt Disney World as we were the first to announce.

Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Animation building traditionally plays host to an exhibit featuring the latest in Disney animation. Until recently, this honor was held by Disney’s Tangled, but with the threat of spring and summer looming and two animated features soon to be released, the installation was very recently switched over to promote both films: Winnie the Pooh from Walt Disney Animation Studios (July 15) and Cars 2 from Pixar Animation Studios (June 24).
Actress Jennifer Stone, from the Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” joins actor Kenton Duty and actress Caroline Sunshine, both from the Disney Channel series “Shake It Up,” and Disney Chef Jens Dahlmann on March 17, 2011 to shoot a public service announcement (PSA) at Epcot in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The PSA is entitled “Try New Foods” and will air on Disney Channel.
The trio is at Walt Disney World for the “Disney Magic of Healthy Living — The Weekend,” a three-day event focusing on smart eating and exercise. You can read more about the event here.
