Tarps have gone up in the areas at the morning meet and greet locations around the Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios according to cast member Paul Chadkin. According to Paul, the areas in question will be receiving all new backdrops including a large ‘film-strip’ background where the Snow White topiary once stood.
Today brings confirmation from DHS-specialist Studios Central who also adds that not only are the locations getting a makeover but the characters who meet and greet guests are getting one too. The site reports that the characters will be sporting all new duds inspired by the early Hollywood glamour: Goofy in a zootsuit, Minnie and Daisy in gowns, Donald in a fedora, Chip and Dale in ties and more.
The Associated Press is reporting that an investigation from the United States Department of Labor resulted in the decision that Walt Disney World owes 69 of its inventory control cast members in the food and beverage department $433,000 in back wages.
The report charges that the theme park resort violated the Fair Labor Standards Act because managers in the department failed to adhere to internal company policies regarding off-the-clock work. The time involved work performed by the cast members not only before and after scheduled work shift hours, but during meal times and from home as well.

The clan visited the Magic Kingdom yesterday where Stoudemire was at an obvious strong disadvantage when he took up a game of one-on-one with Mickey Mouse.
Stoudemire also spent some time at the Main Street Confection where, with the assistance of cast member Naima Fernandes, he created his own Knicks-colored blue and orange sprinkled candied apples shaped like Mickey.
