Earlier today, Disney/ABC Television Group’s Digital Media team released two new apps starring Disney Junior favorites, ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ (iOS Universal) and ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’ (iPad only), allowing the popular interactive shows to become even more engaging with their audiences.
When on site and at an eligible film, the app allows access to bonus content, allows users to compete in trivia games against other FilmPulse users at the theater, offers savings opportunities, gifts such as free popcorn and more.

Whether you’ve never visited the Disneyland Resort or have visited it a thousand times, a new official app will help guests bring a taste of the magic everywhere with the new ‘Disneyland Explorer‘ app for Apple iPad devices.
Rather than using the hub-centric layout of the park, Disneyland Explorer creates what is essentially a panoramic view of Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and the Disneyland Resort Hotels. As you pan across lands and attractions, you’ll get a dose of all the sights and sounds with park icons and background music and even characters. The visual experience is enhanced by crude but effective animations such as Dumbo flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle, Casey Jr chugging away in Fantasyland and more. Each of the items provides an element of interactiveness, from tips to photos to immersive, interactive experiences.
You really have to hand it to Disney Interactive Studios’ mobile games unit. It would have been quite acceptable enough to have simply released ‘Where’s My Water?’ and left it at that and it would still stand today as a shining example as to how mobile apps should be made.
Yet they didn’t. In the three months that followed the game’s initial release on the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (and subsequently Android devices), Disney released three expansion packs — sixty new levels, each offering a unique element of play, all at no additional cost. Not to mention ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ which doled out a few surprises of its own.
Disney Publishing Worldwide announced today that two more storybook app titles based on the original Marvel Origins series will join ‘The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story‘ app, which launched last month. The new titles, both narrated by comic book legend Stan Lee, include ‘Avengers Origins: Hulk’ and ‘Avengers Origins: Assemble!’ which will be available for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch in February 2012.
As we announced yesterday, Disney Interactive did not disappoint when it introduced its third expansion to the amazingly popular ‘Where’s My Water?‘ app for Apple iOS and Android devices. In addition to the new chapter, ‘Stretched Thin,’ which introduces water balloons and new physics, Disney also released ‘Where’s My Water? Free‘ which features ten exclusive levels in addition to another ten levels being released over the course of ten days, beginning with yesterday. The campaign titled ’10 Days of Swampy’ leads into the New Year and will reward players who managed to Tri-Duck it with five of Swampy’s favorite levels from the premium version of the game.
Disney Mobile announced today that ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ is now available on the App Store for Apple iOS devices, Android Market and Amazon Appstore for Android. ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ features 25 exclusive levels, in addition to another two hidden levels.
Disney Mobile is also kicking off a special promotion, ‘The 10 Days of Swampy,’ in which for 10 days, beginning today, players can unlock a new level of the ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ app each day. Players who ‘Tri-Duck’ all of the new levels are immediately rewarded with ‘Swampy’s Picks,’ five of the best levels from the paid version of the game. In addition, players will be surprised with free wallpapers on January 1st, regardless of having completed the new levels.
Swampy the Gator’s perpetual quest for a bath in Disney Interactive’s ‘Where’s My Water?’ app for Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android devices caused some temperatures to rise yesterday as 20 new levels were introduced. The second update of its kind since the game’s release just a couple of months ago, ‘Boiling Point’ introduces the element of steam to the game along with new physics to tease players through the additional levels.
