After a successful relaunch of the SEGA Disney classic, ‘Castle of Illusion’ (not to mention ‘Power of Illusion’ for Nintendo 3DS, Disney has announced it is releasing a version for Apple iDevices including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch via the launch trailer embedded below. At this time it does not appear that the app is available in the iTunes store, however. UPDATE: Castle of Illusion is now available in the App Store for $9.99.
Joining the ‘Disney Infinity’ figure release of Tangled‘s Rapunzel (being released exclusively by Walmart on November 22, 2013) will be the stars of Wreck-It Ralph, which will also be exclusive to specific retailers through the remainder of 2013.
Wreck-It Ralph himself will be available exclusively from Best Buy with a posted release date of November 22, 2013. ‘Bring down the house as the mega-size powerhouse, Wreck-It Ralph, and use his huge fists and high-powered cherry bomb to bash, crash and smash bad guys — and anything else in his path.’ Ralph’s special power is his Super Smash.
Walmart today announced that it will be the exclusive provider of the Rapunzel figure for the ‘Disney Infinity’ gaming platform. According to the new listing, the figure will become available on
March 1, 2014 November 22, 2013.
The heroine of Tangled, Rapunzel’s special move is the Frying Pan Bash and is described as ‘this princess has seen the light and left her tower in search of adventure!’ She will also unlock a frying pan weapon for use in the ‘Disney Infinity’ Toy Box mode.

Last night, Disney Interactive and Square Enix released a D23 Expo Japan edition of a gameplay trailer for their upcoming release, ‘Kingdom Hearts III,’ which will be available for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
Believing light and darkness must remain in balance, Master Xehanort seeks to spark war against the ‘tyranny of light’ to restore equilibrium.
In an effort to undermine Xehanort’s plot, Sora, Donald and Goofy search for seven guardians of light and the ‘Key to Return Hearts,’ while King Mickey and Riku search for previous Keyblade wielders.
Square Enix announced at the D23 Expo Japan that it has officially begun development for ‘Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX.’ A follow up to the recently released ‘Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX’, the title is slated for a US release in 2014, exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 3 console.
Adding further depth and detail to the Kingdom Hearts series, ‘Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX’ is a fully remastered HD compilation of the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system title ‘Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix’ and the PSP system title ‘Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix.’ Both, previously exclusive to the Japanese market, will be available for the first time in the Americas for the PlayStation 3 console. Theatrical cut-scenes from the Nintendo DS title ‘Kingdom Hearts Re:coded’ will also be included in the compilation.
Sulley of Monsters Universty will be the next available Infinite Crystal line of figures. He joins Lightning McQueen as the next of the clear Disney Infinity figures available exclusively at Toys ‘R’ Us in the United States.
Also being released is the third of Toys ‘R’ Us ten exclusive power discs from wave one. As usual, it will be packaged in the exclusive gold foil and be accompanied by another random, widely available power disc from wave one.
GameStop and PDP have united to offer an exclusive bundle of a the ‘Disney Infinity’ Jack Skellington figure along with a PDP ‘Disney Infinity’ figure display case themed to Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. The case, which is black and features a cemetery vignette, connects easily to PDP’s existing line of ‘Disney Infinity’ figure display cases.
The bundle retails for $17.99 and can currently be pre-ordered online. Note that while the online shop is listing a release date of October 5, it is being reported that GameStop locations are advertising a release date of October 15.

GameMill Publishing today announced the upcoming release of Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest, a side-scrolling platformer companion to the animated epic comedy adventure, Frozen, from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. ‘Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest’ is developed by 1st Playable Productions and will be available for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS hand-held systems in time for the movie’s release later this year.
Immediate reactions were mixed at best when we first reported from the D23 Expo earlier this year that Disney will be taking its ‘Second Screen Live’ experience to theaters with The Little Mermaid beginning September 20, 2013.
Now Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released a trailer promoting the event, which is the first time it has gone nationally after some prior localized trials with Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. The ‘Second Screen Live’ experience encourages movie-goers to download a special app for their Apple iPad and bring it to the theater to engage in various activities such as sing-alongs, trivia, games and more.
In conjunction with their first official ‘Disney Infinity’ power disc trading event taking place on Saturday, September 7, 2013, Toys ‘R’ Us has announced it will be releasing the second of its exclusive series of ten discs from wave one.
The next disc to be released will be the circular ‘User Control Power Disc’ inspired by the animated tv series ‘TRON: Uprising.’ The disc will provide toys with the chance to accelerate in-game experience by 10%.
