The Definitive Guide To

Introduction to Kids Discovery Club
Ever see those

symbols on the Animal Kingdom map and wonder what they mean? They identify locations known as the Kids Discovery Club where children can engage themselves in educational and free (yes, free!) activities. This page will set out to tell you everything youll ever need to know to take full advantage of them. There are six Discovery Club stops in all.
Kids Discovery Club Passport Passport
The Passport can be obtained at any one of the stops around the park. Once you complete your first activity and obtain your passport, you can proceed to visit the other five stops and collect their respective stamps. Once you visit and complete all six stops, you receive a special Rafiki stamp (and usually stickers) acknowledging completion of the program.

The passport has replaced an activities booklet featuring Timon and Pumbaa that was distributed in the past. Unfortunately, due to a loss of sponsorship, the booklet is no longer offered but hopefully it will return in some incarnation in the future.

Information on each stop as well as advice on locating it is below:

Animal Kingdom Safari Journal
Often compared to the passport of Epcots World Showcase, the Animal Kingdom Safari Journal actually has very little in common other than the packaging. Also, not in common, is a slightly heftier pricetag of $10.95, presumably with $1 going to the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund (a Conservation Fund button is included).

The premise is fairly straightforward: As you journey throughout Disneys Animal Kingdom, apply stickers to your passport corresponding to various animals and sights you encounter. There are an additional 12 stickers not included with the package that you can collect by visiting gift shops throughout the park and answering questions about wildlife (dont worry if you dont know the answer, youll learn!).

The safari journal is sold at gift shop locations throughout the park but you may want to purchase it at the Outpost Gift Shop outside of the turnstiles prior to entering the park in order to avoid any backtracking.
