ABC Daytime and SOAPnet have signed on as the presenting sponsor of the 2009 Stagecoach Country Music Festival powered by Toyota. The event, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will be a part of ABC Daytime and SOAPnet’s Soap Nation Tour, an ongoing initiative to bring the stars to more fans in more cities more often. As part of the sponsorship, actors from all three soaps, “All My Children” (AMC), “One Life To Live” (OLTL) and “General Hospital” (GH), will be integrated into the event, introducing musical acts and interacting with fans on the Mane Stage. Additionally, ABC and SOAPnet will hold autograph sessions and run giveaways from a branded RV and tent onsite. Talent confirmed to attend (subject to change) include Bobbie Eakes and Aiden Turner from “All My Children,” Bree Williamson from “One Life To Live,” and Brandon Barash, Steve Burton, Rebecca Herbst, Kirsten Storms, Jason Thompson and Laura Wright from “General Hospital.” Go to www.soapnet.com for additional details.
Stagecoach is also the most recent step in ABC Daytime and SOAPnet’s multi-faceted music strategy. Seen as a key promotional platform and a way to reach highly engaged women, the networks have the ability to connect their dedicated audience with new music. The initiative includes sponsoring tours, integrated in-show performances and promoting new songs in on and off air-marketing campaigns.
“We know through research and our past experiences with country music events that country music is one of the popular music categories among our fan base,” said Adam Rockmore, senior vice president, ABC Daytime and SOAPnet Marketing. “The benefit of sponsoring this event is two-fold: we are able to super-serve our daytime fans and also gain exposure and credibility with a whole new audience, ultimately enabling us to grow our viewership.”
