BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 10 — Adventures by Disney (AdventuresbyDisney.com), provider of high-end family travel experiences, was named World’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator and North America’s Best Luxury Tour Operator by the 2009 World Travel Awards. Adventures by Disney was also presented two Travel Weekly Magellan Awards for its consumer Web site and consumer collateral in fall 2009.
Hailed as the “Travel Industry’s equivalent to the Oscar’s”, the World Travel Awards acknowledges and celebrates excellence in the world’s travel and tourism industry and has become one of the highest accolades a travel product can receive. Highly-recognized as the premier award for the travel industry, the Magellan Award honors the best in travel and distinguishes those representing a high standard of excellence within the travel industry.

In 2009, the 16th Annual World Travel Awards received the highest voters poll, with more than 180,000 industry professionals casting their votes for what they consider the very best travel, tourism and hospitality products and services in the world – ultimately naming Adventures by Disney the World’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator and North America’s Best Luxury Tour Operator.
Travel Weekly’s 2009 Magellan Awards received entries from across the U.S. and around the world that were judged and overseen by a panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders in the industry. Entries are judged against a standard of excellence rather than against each other – in fact, some categories may not have any winners at all.
