As part of its global twitter chat earlier today with The Avengers stars Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg and Samuel L. Jackson and writer/director Joss Whedon, Marvel Studios also teased its full ad that will premiere during Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5, 2012.

Below are some of the highlights from the Twitter chat, followed by the Super Bowl ad teaser:

JOSS WHEDON:

• Denies Spider-Man will make a cameo appearance in the film, but states the Avengers ‘do turn off the dark.’
• Viewing previous Marvel films not necessary to enjoy The Avengers, ‘but you need to see Steel Magnolias like six times.’
• Can he share bloopers from film? ‘Not when Samuel L. Jackson says them.’
• Avenger he wished was included in the film: ‘I’m a fan of the Wasp. She’s goofy and sting-y.’

SAMUEL L. JACKSON (Nick Fury)

• Not phased by the eye patch. ‘There was a new memory factor involved’ and it makes him ‘feel cool’
• First favorite super hero is the Flash
• Favorite Avenger is Black Widow
• ‘There’s a lot of Nick Fury in me already.’
• Biggest challenge in role? ‘losing the weight to fit my costume & keep it off.’

TOM HIDDLESTON (Loki):

• In The Avengers, Loki is ‘more mischievous. More evil. More hubristic. More delusional. More damaged. More badass.’
• Listened to ‘Archangel’ by Burial ‘and not a little of Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack compositions’ for inspiration
• Biggest challenge with role: ‘magnifying his menace without losing touch of his emotional truth. Keeping his chaos honest!’

CLARK GREGG (Agent Coulson)

• Favors the bulletproof Dolce suits
• Purchases suits at the Dolce S.H.I.E.L.D. Outlet
• No action figure (very jealous)
