Proving there is no product in this universe safe from the attraction of the Disney brand, Panasonic’s Sanyo will be introducing Disney-inspired NiMH rechargeable batteries this March in Japan. Marketed under the banner of Walt Disney’s 110th Anniversary, the collectible batteries will be available in both Mickey and Minnie styles as well as a collection highlighting several popular Disney characters in a hand-drawn, kawaii style.
The kawaii batteries celebrate love and friendship by coupling Disney characters together such as Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Stitch and Scrump, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, Ariel and Flounder, Dumbo and Timothy and Lady and Tramp.
Eneloop, which has distinguished itself physically by offering a range of colors and themes, banks on its collectibility by offering batteries that allow themselves to last longer than other brands of rechargeable batteries, come pre-charged (via solar power in Japan), operate reliably under harsher temperatures and have a very low discharge rate.
For more information and pictures of the special edition batteries, visit the Eneloop product information page (in Japanese).
