At the Big Hero 6 (November 7, 2014) booth from Disney Consumer Products at San Diego Comic-Con, attendees are able to preview much of the upcoming toy line from Bandai that will be available at mass market retailers beginning in September. Among the items, however, are also a sneak peek at upcoming Vinylmation figures based on the titular characters from the film, to be available exclusively at Disney Store.
There are seven figures in all that are represented in the display, one of each of the characters in their super hero form, as well as an additional figure of Baymax in his unadorned natural state (read: naked). This also hints at a potential total number of twelve figures in the sets if it does include the alter egos of each of the heroes.
Other than an approximate release time of September and a retail of $12.95 per figure, we are currently short on details. We have reached out to Disney Store for additional information and will update as it becomes available to us.
Also in the booth, as part of a #MeetBaymax social media campaign, is a photo opportunity with a large figure of an armored Baymax. Based on the build and base of the life-size figure, many are speculating that it is representative of a not-yet-announced playable figure for ‘Disney Infinity 2.0.’ Attendees who pose for a photo with the figure and share it on social media using the hashtag receive a mini Baymax plush, well ahead of it being available to the public.
UPDATE: Disney Store has confirmed to us that this will be a blind box series of eight figures: the seven pictured here as well as a chaser. They will be released on November 3, 2014.
