New ‘Brave,’ ‘Frankenweenie’ Hi-Res Stills

Walt Disney Studios has provided us with its annual film preview for 2012 and, taking our cue from Gaston from Beauty and the Beast 3D (how’s that for a segue?), we can only make sense of reading material by the pictures. That said, while most of the imagery found in the preview has already been released, here’s a couple of images we didn’t readily recognize, nor did a cursory search turn them up.

Admittedly the resolution of this image is pretty harsh, so we hope to have a better one in the near future which we will add permanently to our gallery for the film. Brave is the grand adventure of Merida, a skilled archer who confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts to discover the true meaning of courage. It opens in theaters nationwide on June 22, 2012.

A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life — with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new ‘leash on life’ can be monstrous. Frankenweenie opens in theaters nationwide on October 5, 2012.
