In honor of the release of Rock Star Mickey from Fisher-Price on September 6 (now available for pre-order), ‘American Idol’ favorite and star of Broadway, Constantine Maroulis, took the stage at the Disney Consumer Product booth at the 2011 Disney D23 Expo to help the must-have toy make its public debut.
Maroulis performed his hit cover, ‘You Really Got Me’ (available on iTunes) before inviting Mickey Mouse himself to the stage where the new partners in rock went over all of Mickey’s new power moves including kick-steps, head bobbing and the must-be-seen-to-be-believed Mickety-split, which ends up with Mickey Mouse playing the guitar with his nose!
After the performance, Constantine took the honor of introducing Rock Star Mickey itself, which was demoed for the audience in attendance, just prior to meeting and greeting with fans backstage. Rock Star Mickey continued to meet and greet with his fans throughout the weekend with exciting giveaways including Rock Star Mickey himself for some lucky fans.
Said Maroulis, ‘It was awesome to get to rock out with such a beloved, global icon. I know what it takes to get people up on their feet, and Rock Star Mickey really has all the right moves. As a new dad and a musician who loves to rock, I think it’s important to help kids appreciate the magic of music and its impact on their lives. It’s great to see how Rock Star Mickey can get kids rockin’ [at] an early age.’
Be sure to be on the lookout for an all new television commercial for Rock Star Mickey starring Constantine Maroulis, scheduled to begin airing nationwide on September 6.
