D23 Announces ‘Disney and Dickens’ Holiday Event at Walt Disney Studios, December 8
On Wednesday, December 8, Disney D23 members and their guests are invited to visit the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California for the rare opportunity to experience an area of the Studios rarely seen by the public. After check-in begins at 4:00 pm PT, guests will have the opportunity to explore the on-site Disney Store and Walt Disney Studios employee store before being escorted to the famed Legends Plaza where hot cider and other treats will be offered prior to the event’s start.
After Legends Plaza, guests will head to the original Animation Building for a brief tour before landing at the screening room used by Walt Disney himself where classic holiday shorts including Pluto’s Christmas Tree and Mickey’s Christmas Carol will be screened.
Following the screening will be a holiday feast at the classic Los Angeles eatery the Tam O’Shanter (Note that transportation between the Studios and the restaurant will NOT be provided) in the city’s Los Feliz area. The Tam O’Shanter was a favorite restaurant for Walt Disney and his animators and was often referred to as the Studio Commissary when Walt’s fledgling company was located in the neighborhood. From the moment you pull up to this quaint, cottage-like establishment, you will be transported to another time and place. Decked out in its holiday finest, the Tam is a cozy, traditional Scottish restaurant. As you dine with your fellow D23 Members and their guests, you’ll have the opportunity to see Walt’s table, take a look at the wonderful artwork created by Disney animators for the Tam and be entertained by Dickens Carolers.
In the spirit of giving, attendees will also receive a special exclusive gift for attending the event.
Tickets are $175 each and will become available for purchase online on October 21 at at 10 am PST. For more information or to purchase tickets when available, click here.
