Disney Family.com and Teri Hatcher Announce ‘Take a Chance – Make a Change’ Contest on GetHatched.com

Disney Family.com announced today the first ever Take a Chance – Make a Change Contest inspiring people to visit GetHatched.com, Disney Online’s latest Web site created with award winning actress Teri Hatcher. The contest encourages people to share a life-long goal that they have yet to achieve, with the grand prize winner receiving $10,000 to put toward fulfilling their goal or improving an area of their life that they have always wanted to change. The contest will run through July 26, 2010.

“We are delighted to launch the first ever Take A Chance – Make a Change Contest with Teri and help make an unfulfilled dream become a reality for one lucky person,” said Emily Smith, vice president of Disney Online Mom and Family Portfolio. “Whether a woman’s goal is to return to school, learn a foreign language, or be more adventurous, we invite women to ‘hatch out’ of their shell and submit their story to us.”

“GetHatched was created to celebrate women, to help them rediscover and reinvent themselves. This contest is giving a woman a chance to do something for herself and achieve a personal goal that may have been deferred to responsibilities of life circumstances,” stated Ms. Hatcher.

The grand prize winner and their winning story will be announced on the site in August.

GetHatched.com, ‘A Chick’s Guide to Life,’ is an online destination that balances having fun, finding inspiration, and gaining understanding from other women. The site offers a decidedly unique take on popular topics for women including beauty, relationships, style, health and happiness. The site is produced by Disney Family.com, with creative and editorial content and insight provided by Ms. Hatcher and a team of experts.
