Wild About Safety: Timon and Pumbaa Safety Smart about FireThe popular DVD Wild About Safety with Timon and Pumbaa: Safety Smart about Fire! is a finalist for the Association of Educational Publishers’ (AEP) Distinguished Achievement Awards.

Get down, get out and stay out! That’s just one of the lessons Timon and Pumbaa share to help students understand what to do in a fire emergency. From smoke alarms, fire escape plans and preventative measures such as not playing with matches, Timon and Pumbaa review their Safety Smart Checklist full of valuable and life-saving fire safety information.

“We are thrilled that Wild About Safety with Timon and Pumbaa: Safety Smart About Fire! has been named a finalist for the Association of Educational Publishers’ (AEP) Distinguished Achievement Awards,” said Greg Hale, Chief Safety Officer and Vice President, Worldwide Safety and Accessibility for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “We are committed to making a difference in our communities by teaching children about safety. About Fire is the fourth in a series of DVDs featuring Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King that has been produced in partnership with Disney Educational Productions, Disney Feature Animation and Underwriters Laboratories to engage children across the nation in developing their safety knowledge.”

AEP is the only non-profit organization that serves the needs of the entire K-12 educational resource community, encouraging and advocating for professional, quality content for education.  By connecting teachers, schools, and businesses, they aim to inspire effective and innovative learning solutions for the 21st Century classroom.

The award winners will be announced this summer in Washington, D.C.
